Ways to Make the Futba More Affordable

Recommended Posts

Most of us agree that going to see Dundee and football in general is well overpriced so I was thinking about ways of making it affordable.

1 less pint before the match £2.75

Don't buy a half time draw ticket £1

Don't buy a pie and juice at game £5

Take sweets for the bairns in with you £1

Just saved you almost a tenner.

Personally I'd rather give Dundee my money than another team so miss an away game. £23 entry, £12 bus/petrol, £20 on bevvy, £5 peh/juice. Just saved you £55.

Budget buster dsc

I guess I am lucky that I can afford the cost of a season ticket. The cost is not what is turning me away it is football in general. What exactly are we playing for, before a ball is kicked Celtic have the league wrapped up and most likely all domestic cups. So going into a season the best we have to hope for currently due to budget constraints is a long slog and the hope of avoiding relegation!

Our football authorities should be ashamed that Killie's gates have dropped from 11,000 to 4,000 in 15 years.

What measures have been taken to create a more competitive league? They've done absolutely f**k all in that regard.

Agree Cobra. I think the SFA are being bribed by the money that Celtic get for European success. No team has a chance unless they get a big sugar daddy to pump money in on a long term basis until they are getting into Champions League and on the gravy train. We are supposed to get over £300k because Celtic got into the Champions League proper. What must the English teams be getting with the number of teams that they have, same with the French and Germans.

Money has created an uneven playing field and radical steps are needed to improve our game, for the sake of Scotland not the individual teams.

They are spineless, impotent yes-men who grovel to the Old Firm.

For the head of our league to talk about Armageddon instead of fairness during the Rangers debacle when such language was clearly a PR disaster just highlights that these clowns see themselves as representing the interests of Rangers and Celtic rather than actually living up to their job titles.

Bring back " liftie owers "

Brings me back to the comment I made yesterday in anither topic (Dens Memories)

Aboot the baiirns in the 1940's to'50's, were in the main, nearly awe jist skin & bone.

The ration restrictions on food/sweets/sugar, meant seeing fat bairns wis a novelty.

And wi nae Computers/TV's, we run aroond playing the fitba and cowboys & indians.

Even if it were possible, humpin (some) today's bairns ower a turnstile No thanks :sadno:

But good for awe they young ains today, who still manage to exercise, try to keep fit.

The poiint made by Wattie tho' is fair...Trimming costs on match day wid help some.

(At least until some action is taken by those in authority...As per cobra's comments)

In all seriousness, under 12s ( primary school age) should be free entry end of story. Maybe there could be a voluntary donation box if the parents want to pay a couple of quid for their entry which goes towards something like youth development?
