What & Who Decides What Is A Fair Price to Watch Dundee Football Club?

On the What Prices Front .... I guess if there was an easy answer/solution to this, DFC & every ither Scottish Club woulld have found it by now.

What it usually boils down to (imo) is, you usually get what you pay for. I dont mean, suffering through real stinking game on a particular day.

Then coming away after & thinking, "That wis a real waste o' money !!"  I'm thinking more long-term. Most owners/business men I dont think,

go into football to make loads o' money & line their pockets (There is easier/more successful, ways for them to make better returns & profit)

If the Club does, get some direct benefit of increased income from the overall returns of the New Campie Stadium Project then all will be well.

Meanwhile, it might be a case of accepting it,. If we really want an improving team, we really will have to pay for it. Some fans will suffer (imo)

(The above was intended to be no more than a post on the Dundee v Celtic Topic. But I thought by adding it there, it might be a case of putting

the original Topic, further of track, when the focus should maybe be on the importance of the game tonight. I take the point that the issues on

pricing have been discussed before. There's maybe nothing new to add. So no hard feelings if there is no response. But it's a concern for many)

Eh dinnae like the first post on meh ain new topic to come only a few minutes efter (And to be fae mehsel)...But I do have anither supplementary question.

Does anyone know exactly how DFC  are going to benefit financially from the Campie Project? I am not wanting to come over as negative. But on the other

hand I don't want to get over excited:excited:The guys who put the money deserve the Big Bucks. But I've no clear idea of how that really helps us. Help please?

If we were charged a fair price, we wouldn't have a side that would stay up.

We have to deal with the fact that football has to be expensive.

Sorry, you've got that the wrong way round. People would surely pay more to see a successful team.

Vicious circle.

To answer Gedee a fair price to me and a fair price to the next person will be different. There's more to it than the product on sale there's personal circumstances, pay off of what might need to be sacrificed to have it etc. Most people have more than one hobby and DFC needs to balanced against doing other things we enjoy and of course family commitments.

Rev you are right of course re "fair-price" point ... And it has made me reconsider the whole Topic Heading

(Because it's the kind of topic that can go roond in circles)...And then probably nae solution at the end o' it.

However, to focus on your knowledge (& others as well) We  need a further source o' income. But I am still

no' at all clear, as to how the Campie Project will provide it. Money will be made. But for whom? How does

Dundee Football Club fit into the equation.... Not a cricism. But US investors are not a benevolent charity?

GD,there will be various revenue streams coming in,hopefully through every day use of the facilities provided in the new biuld. Therefore we will not be as reliant on the footballing aspect A fixed price rental of ground from the building holdings company means we can offset it for tax purposes as a business expense.

Be assured the Yanks know how to generate income at sports, recreation events. They can then reinvest profits into football club.

GSD thank you for your response .... If I can take this a wee bit further with yourself, &/or others (& apologies if I'm coming over as a wee bit dense)

The potential revenue streams (which I believe will be substantial) I do understand. But I am not quite sure where Dundee FC come into this set-up.

If it is a separate entity & source of income, that our US freends are investing their own money into ... Why then should we expect a direct benefit?

Not trying to stir things up, be negative, or give the idea, that DFC is being used as a "vehicle" to be exploited. Eh jist dinnae ken why/how we benefit.

(Probably this post is a s clear as mud) :)

The Yanks will have a mortgage on the property,or an alternative capital investment.DFC will pay a rental to cover the interest on the loan, and maybe some of the capital.

I'm then assuming that any profit after tax will be re-invested in the Club. Then the Club as a whole should be self-sufficient as a top Premier outfit and won't require any further investment from FPS.

Hopefully the sums stack up and good management continues, and we see the fruits of that on the park.

All complete speculation of course, what was that saying about speculation again?......................:wave:

Thank you once more GSD for coming back with some clarification.

I take the point, there is possibly, assumptions/speculation in there.

However, it really does make a great deal more sense to me now :)

(Briefly, but succinctly put, my friend)
