Knew is was young, yes, but it's only marginal compared to our rivals Kilmarnock  and Motherwell.

Nonetheless.. I didn't think we'd be the youngest at top flight level in the U.K. with the players we've used so far this season..

All the more reason for folk to give this team time to settle.

Totally agree. But in the SPL we are the 'same' as Killie and Well.

I'm not surprised at that tbh.

I remember arguing with a DAB acquaintance after the 2-1 cup win and he had the temerity to suggest our team were more experienced and had used that experience to bully them off the park - he didn't like when I pointed out our average age was lower and that our back 4's oldest player was 24

More important than the average age of the squad, what is the average length of time has the squad been together?  It strikes me that we have probably had at least a dozen players coming in and going out every year for the last four years.   The Celtic squad however, who gave us a sound thrashing on Wednesday has been together, longer,  on average, than any other in Scotland.   I can't be bothered to do the research  but Brown , Lustic,  Rogic, Griffiths, Forrest , Teirney,  Bitton and Gordon  have all been in the squad for up to six years at least.  There is a lesson there, I think.

Yeah.. Contiuity at St Johnstone is a large factor in their recent "golden era" as well.

Our player turn over in the last 4 years has basically meant we have had a new team every year and how can you expect to have some sort of consistency we you are turning over players quicker than bullets from a Gatling gun?

We need to get a settled team bringing in one or two new faces only if players leave. Personally, I think that was PH down fall, always looking to bring in players which were not any better than the players we had let go.
