Historically attendances at football matches on the last Saturday before Christmas are poorer than usual, and I suspect that the same will be the case on Christmas Eve.

Therefore In my opionion football matches should not be played on Christmas Eve. The players have families and the last thing they need is to be travelling the length and breadth of Scotland to play a football match on Christmas Eve.

It is time for the football authorities to show a bit of common sense.

Have never been at games on Xmas Eve or Xmas day.

Was at many Dundee games at New Year during the 70's with huge crowds home and away (even with restricted public transport).

One of the best was a 1-0 win against Aberdeen at Dens on New Years day 72 -74 ish. Can't recall exactly.

Attendance: 20,000

Scorer: Johnnie D

So, if we could do it then with reduced public transport, why can't we do it now.

Why not? Football is down the pecking order for everyone.
