Video technology

  1. 1. Do you think we should use video technology for borderline decisions for game-changing moments (goals, penalties, red cards) in top flight games?

Just watched wrongly given last minute goals affect results for Aberdeen, Dundee, Ross County and St Mirren that could potentially affect the title and relegation.

I would allow managers the chance to appeal one or two big decisions a game so a video official in the stand can have a word in the ref's ear. The other side of that is the argument that it would slow down the game.

What do others think?

Undoubtedly yes.. the game needs to move with the times and big decisions can impact clubs massively.

Agree that there needs to be some sort of control measures as well - a certain number of challenges for each team for example.

Referee's and linesmen need all the assistance they can get in the modern game with punters trawling over highlights and footage of one kind or another for weeks after the game.

They don't have an easy job nowadays..

It'll only be a few years until its introduced up here, I'm all for it and stopping the game for a minute or two to review the video can only be good as It's frustrating as hell when a decision goes against you.

This argument that it would *slow down the game* is just ridiculous.

So the game pauses for 30 seconds to allow someone to view 4-5 sweconds of video a couple of tiomes and relay the decision to the ref?

It takes longer than that to disperse the crowd of revellers/complainants when goalsd like that go in anyway!

For a game that is now so reliant on cash, where a single goal can ruin a man's career, it is a damn disgrace that this technology is not used.

The fat Turkish waiter over at the Sticklebrick will think it's skooshy cream and gobble it up no doubt...

That is so inappropriate... I actually can't believe you said that.

You can't say gobble.
