United Consortium Rumours

Recommended Posts

From the least reliable source in the world (Nursery drop off) there is a guy whom I know only as *****s dad.

He's a good guy bar the fact he is the tangiest of the tangos.

He works with the powers that be at tannadump and from what he was saying an American led consortium is in the process of buying Uniteds assets.

That's is all he said.

My mind however has kicked into overdrive. Who else was bought by an American led consortium? Who else is working on a new stadium?

You can't ignore the money it would generate for them if a merger happened. It benefits them and that's what business is.

Two money banks. Ad revenue from a whole city and support from the next generation. It all makes perfect business sense.

This coupled with the established changes to companies house with "thommar Ltd" and other dodgy dealings with Thompson.

All the talk about sharing grounds? Things like that to soften a blow?

Not a huge long shot if you really think about it.

God have mercy on us all.

I remember when Caley merged with Thistle. It was a merger in name only to appease Thistle fans. In reality it was a takeover of Thistle by Caley and most Caley fans went along with it to get into the Scottish League.

I could probably stomach something similar with a takeover dressed up as a merger.

I believe DFC tried to change their name to Dundee City in the 1990s but it was rejected. If that was to happen now I could live with it. Adding their colours to ours would be too much to bear though.

I'd be utterly against tangerine, but if it was black and white like their away top from a couple of seasons ago I'd be okay with it. (As much as I don't like to admit it, that top was actually smart as fuck).

Yeah dark blue home kit and the old DUFC colours for the away kit would be bearable.
