  1. 1. What do you expect will happen when the Dee host Killie at Dens?

    • A big victory
    • A narrow win
    • A hard-fought draw
    • Another damaging defeat

Might as well get this thread up early. Biggest match of the season so far.

I'd go with this team.

--------------------Parish

------Kerr---Hendry---O'Dea---Holt

----------------------Kamara

------------Allan---------McGowan

---------------------El Bak

--------------Haber----------AJ

I'll back us to edge it... Dundee 2-1 Killie.

This fixture gives me the fear thinking about the implications of yet another defeat and how the home crowd would turn.

What would be helpful would be a bigger than normal noisy home crowd on and an atmosphere like we had exactly a year ago this week against Motherwell at Dens wearing the pink strip where the fans were brilliant that day and roared the team on loudly to a much much needed at the time 2-0 victory and a thumping performance to go along with it.

Narrow win. It has to be a win. Don't care how we do it. We desperately need 3 points. Think the home crowd will be up for it. Its then up to the players to respond and show fight.

Losing this one is unthinkable and would spell the end of NM's time at Dundee I reckon. A draw would at least stop the rot and we could move on to the next game.

For sanity sake, as weel as meh general health, I continue to approach each DFC game (even from afar) in a "contained" way.

It does not get any easier as eh get older. As CW highlights above, if you can make the Killie game, give the team all you can.

Loud positive noisy support is no guarantee o' a win for the Dark Blues. But it might. And you know you've been a part of it:chaplin:

Killie have an impressive away record, especially in their last 4 games where they’ve avoided defeat at Aberdeen, both halves of the Old Firm and Hearts. Going to be a really hard game to get a win from but we have to find a way. If we can’t find a way to win we definitely can’t lose it. Hopefully we don’t go too attacking too early and get hit with a sucker punch on the break. If we go 1-0 down I don’t think j we’ll recover. We need to keep it tight for as long as possible and trust our forward players to get the job done. I’d like to see Allan back fit for this one.

If this team takes the field it should be the best prepared team we have had turnout for ages. It will also show that NM is trusting his players to play to their strnegths and that he is not relying on some tactical wheeze. IMO he should be down playing the possibility of Deacon, Allan and O'Dea being fit and try to keep his team selection under wraps. Also need to make sure that if we come under pressure when defending that we get Deacon Allan and Elbak putting pressure on Killie players in the Killie half of the pitch. Pressing quickly by our opponents in our half of the pitch when we have the ball has resulted in us losing goals so why not turn the tables and use attack minded players to create the pressure on our opponents in their half of the pitch? Deacon, Allan, ElBak and Haber may not be the best tacklers in a one on one situation but if they are closing down the opposition in their half that must be better than retreating to the half way line and giving the opposition all the time they need to look for openings.
