Asked if Bain would be available for selection for what is probably bottom-of-the-table Dundee’s biggest game of the season so far, McCann replied: “No.”

It sounds as though they've had a total breakdown in their relationship. I can see Bain getting released as soon as McCann is able to sign another keeper.

I said when I heard the news that he was out the squad for the Hibs game that I didn't think he'd play for us ever again.

This confirms it for me.

Very sad.

Having said that, Parrish looked decent against Hibs so there is hope.

McCann's biggest f**k up IMO.

There may be error on the side of Bain but adults should be able to sort this out and IMO it shows a lack of man management abilities from McCann.

We are now without one of our best (and most financially valuable) assets because of a personal spat.

Disgraceful.

As for Parrish - early days but he looks every inch a back up keeper - he won't be a liability but we can probably forget about the points Bain has won us this season.

You're speculating Bubster, I may be too but I don't believe you know what's went on behind the scenes. Obviously it's not gross misconduct or we'd have sacked SB but it's obviously serious enough to warrant a rumoured 2wk fine.  SB wouldn't have earned us very much as he'd either sign a PCA and leave at the end of the season or go for a pittance in January. How can you possibly write off Parrish after one game?.

I'm speculating but as you point out, it can't be gross misconduct or he'd be punted. Short of gross misconduct we shouldn't be wilfully missing out on our best goalkeeper.

I think McCann has a real arrogance about him tbh, and whilst I think all players/managers need that belief in themselves I thibk McCann takes it too far.

I also find it quite ironic that Bain is accused of this arrogance by some on here while McCann is described as a "winner" or full of "self belief" due to his perceived/imagined love of the club. Both are imo similar - it's one or the other for both.

You sit Terry down and speak to him without him knowing you're a Dee and I assure you it's all about the Rangers. I think that's fine as he does care about our club but some are kidding themselves on he's Mr Dundee FC putting the club before a player. I suspect he's putting Neil McCann before the player.

RE Parrish I've not written him off but he had a number of ropey moments and that first goal was imo a shocker.

Yep probably agree with you on most, if not all, of that.
