Mr Gandosaur Posted 21 January 2015 Report Share Posted 21 January 2015 Where is everyone staying? We are staying near Kings Cross and getting the train out to Selhurst - didn't seem like there was too much about the area where the ground is. Randy Posted 21 January 2015 Report Share Posted 21 January 2015 I'm going to try and get tickets for the championship play off final for the day before. Does anyone know how hard this would be? I seem to remember them selling out fairly quickly and I'd assume they'd go to season ticket holders or members of supporters groups. Also anyone know when they come out (maybe when they know who's in the final?) and how much they cost? Assuming it's too costly, which is likely, I'll just do the touristy stuff. TheCoosTail Posted 21 January 2015 Report Share Posted 21 January 2015 Hotel booked in Croydon for night of the game, home next day. . Looking at approx £80 for the train return to East Croydon from Dundee ( if booked 12 weeks in advance) , 6.5hrs. I go to London 3 or 4 times a year on the train, it's not too bad. I find it much less hassle than driving (fuel) to Edinburgh, parking (fees), wait in airport, flight, train into London etc. Just wander on at Dundee, get a bevvy (obeying all drinking times & rules😂) and forget about the journey until Kings X. Can't wait now!!

My missus says there will be cheaper train prices released nearer to the game,is that the 12 wks in advance you're talking about?.I'm sure if you break the journey up it works out cheaper as well.If you go 3-4 times a year you'll obviously know fit you're talking aboot. My tickets are usually paid for by work/union, however £80 approx is for a 12 week in advance type price, remember that's for fare across London to Croydon too, not just to Kings X which IMO is pretty good. Splitting the journey may take a few quid off, I've never tried it on that journey as my fare is usually paid for by someone else. Worth a try though, and I will be trying! 😉

markthedee Posted 21 January 2015 Report Share Posted 21 January 2015 Norwood Junction is near Selhurst Park as well and is on the Overground network, meaning Tube travel cards are valid. That might be cheaper than a normal rail fare.

thegen65 Posted 21 January 2015 Report Share Posted 21 January 2015 I had a wee look at one of the Palace fans forums and in one post they are suggesting that they should give assistance on the payment for our coach for our fans!!! Although that is a nice thought i think that they are well underestimating how many are going to travel down for this one if they think there will be only one busload heading down. They will be amazed i think at our numbers for this game, i cant wait i am looking forward to it already.
