European Qualifiers

Scotland will face off Scotland v Republic of Ireland at Celtic Park (Apparently). Both Gordon Strachan and Martin O’Neill should know this venue very well, considering both are former Celtic Managers.

14th November 2014 - Kick off 19:45

This game should be live on Sky Sports

I have to predict a Scottish win, even though I'm sure it will be a draw.

Started to get a bit excited for this it's only my second Scotland game, my first being a 0-0 draw against someone like Macedonia :( Considering how much of a rip off the tickets are I hope I at least see a Scotland goal this time. We've got a great chance, we just need a good start.

Getting the train through at about 3. Where's the best place to go? We're thinking of having a couple of drinks in the centre then walking or getting a taxi to parkhead. Or should we go somewhere nearer parkhead then just a quick walk to the stadium? What's the chances of managing to get a taxi back to the station after the game?

Can't even have a celebratory drink on the train back because of the ban after 9 <_<

Enjoy the game!

Used to go to a fair few Scotland games, always a good trip, home and away.

However...... i'm out due to current ticket prices, absolute rip off!!

Was going to leave it because of the prices but it's the first time I've had a good chance of going to a game. After this one I'm just going to save for away games.

The SFA have shown that they only care about money, not the fans. The reason they weren't concerned about the attendance at the Georgia game is because they make more money with a half full stadium at these prices than they do with a full one at reasonable prices. When the team isn't performing the one-offers and part timers (like me :P) will stop going and they'll be left to try and coax the loyal fans back. It's short term thinking that won't end well.

Heading through to this on the 16.46 train.

Don't usually go to many Scotland games, but this one should be a cracker.

Still some tickets left - i just decided to go yesterday.

I'll go for 2 1 Scotland. Should be a great atmosphere.

Stick to the city centre.  Plenty of pubs around George Square area, Counting House, Waxys etc or head diagonally across the square from station and you're in Merchant City where there's loads of choice.  Pubs around Parkhead are mainly shitholes and will be heaving.

You shouldn't have a prob getting a taxi to Parkhead, but if you do just jump on a Queen Street lower level train to Bellgrove (every 10mins and takes 5mins to get there) and then just follow the crowds.  15/20min or thereabouts depending on which turnstile you need.

Best following same in reverse going back as taxis tend to avoid the area when matches are coming out.  You might get lucky though.

That's probably what we'll do. Need to find somewhere to buy it before ten though.

Can't wait for this.

My heart says a Scotland win but my head is saying this has a draw written all over it.

I hope I'm wrong!!

Driving through with the wee man. Can anyone recommend anywhere for a bite to eat and a child friendly pub to soak up the atmosphere?
