I was at the match and will never forget what happened with Cantona.  Finished 1-1 I think, Giggs and Southgate scoring.  Remember saying to my buddies as the game progressed that Cantona was losing it fast and that something was going to happen.  Richard Shaw, the Palace defender was man-marking Cantona and hardly giving him a kick.  Have to say that not all Shaw's challenges were probably within the rules but hey ho.

In the second half from what I remember, the ball is played along the deck to Cantona and Shaw sticks a foot between Cantona's legs and pokes the ball away.  Cantona has obviously had enough and turns around and kicks Shaw.  Cheerio.  What happened next is well known but I couldn't see all of it as we were in the opposite end of the ground.

Reading that report and the quote from Ferguson - 'Disgraceful tackles from Palace's defenders',?  Halfwit.
