Only string of unlikely results and a mathematical miracle can see us in the top six at the split but do we realistically see ourselves as relegation/ play-off contenders over the remaining 11 games?

We are usually quite quick to put the boot into McCann and the team with cries of ‘out his depth’ and ‘relegation’ when we do a Dundee and snatch a defeat at the jaws of victory. Others were also very quick to point out that Simon Murray was not what we needed to win games. However, this week has offered evidence to both sides of the varying differences of opinion.

After a  week whereby the different Dundees have turned up and given our emotions a bit of a turbulent ride; have the team, including the signings of Caulker and Murray, given us enough hope that we can stay in the top flight?

Had today’s result gone the other way, I think I’d have thrown in the towel. Tuesday night was an extremely bitter pill and inexcusable  but today gave me enough hope that we can battle our way out of trouble.

I’m predicting a welcomed but uncomfortable finish in 9th and play-off safety secured with a single game to go!

It’s the Dundee way.

Hopefully this pair will see to it that we pull away from trouble. A positive, winning home display next week would go a long way to settling some lingering nerves. We need to improve results and performances at Dens.

From all accounts, I don't think we were that bad against Killie during the week, but the last 15 minutes we let ourselves down. Whether this was the manager or players fault doesn't really matter any more, the game is over and we have moved on.

Today should show most of the DEE support that this team does have the ability and desire to come back from what looked like certain defeat. McCann made a few inspired subs and Murray took chances which if I am honest, Moussa would have missed.

From what I have heard, Caulker is every bit as good as Hendry (If not better) and he looks a good pairing with Meekings (Who did a good job, so I am told) and I expect them to get better together as we progress.

Would love to see Murray prove a lot of people wrong and start scoring more goals, I would like to see AJ in that front paring, as I think they will make a good team up front.

This season i will settle for 10th place any higher will be a bonus and hopefully kick on next season

You just have to wonder how much McCann will have learned and taken after this season is over? I don't think he expected things to be as hard as they were and that the job is tougher than he expected (Made much tougher with the recent death in his family I suspect).

I would like to think that he takes this season on board and learns from it to make him a better manager. Hopefully he will look back after this year and use the experience he has gained to make us a better team. I hope so, because I hate all this manager swapping and changing every-time things get hard or tough.

Sincerely hope so too.

Elements of the media on today's game questioning NM's team set up first and second half.  And lack of goal threat.

Be interesting to hear from those fans who were at the game.

Having said that. POINTS MEAN PRIZES.

If we played the most boring tedious uninspiring football without the lack of leadership and imagination and got the three points every game.... I would take that right now!

Exactly this. Swapping and changing managers usually means a clearout of players which in turn requires the settling in period. I am content with NM as manager regardless of where we finish. I think he comes across as an intelligent guy and will have learned a great deal during his first season. I think his lessons learned will be valuable for next transfer window/ season.

If we’d held out against Killie we’d be a point off 6th and ten off bottom. Realistically tho I’d be happy with 9th and safe with 2/3 games to go.

Was thinking the same myself but we are where we are for a reason(s).  The 'biggest game of the season' will be muttered a good few times between now and the end of the season and it's got to be one game at a time and muster as many points as possible, starting this Saturday.  It's going to be an interesting team selection though.
