Wonder How Long It Takes Dundee Players & Fans to Get Over A Poor Performance & A Bad Unexpected Defeat?

DFC Fans & Supporters...Strangely I am (I think) generally a pretty positive person and when things get me down I (actively) work hard at it, to get myself out of a rut (when it is in my own hands to do so) I know the effect long term depression can have on myself & those around me ... So as I say, I work hard at it, to avoid it. However when DFC get beaten as in the circumstances above, I think it does seem to hit me far more than it should. I don't scream & shout. But I do withdraw... And it takes me quite some time to get back to normal ... Normal?   Weel ye ken whit eh mean

In the great scheme o' things, Dundee FC losing, is no quite the end of the world. But jings it can feel like that at times. :(

Guess others must feel much the same (& you can feel it in the posts) Do you? On the plus side a DFC Win is jist braw :lol2:

Now DFC Players .... No' gonna gie the players as much time as I gave myself because it's awe their fault eh feel Seek -_-

Logically of course, there's no' really an answer tae that. Mainly 'cause they're awe different & it's probably...Jist a Job :)

(So Dundee, ye noo ken whit you have to dae ... Beat Celtic, then eh'm a Happy Mannie):chaplin:

It takes less than an hour nowadays for me to start looking ahead Gedee. I can generally form an opinion on a performance / result quite quickly.

Whats done is done.  On to the next one.

Gone are the days where i’ll sit and stew over formations, line-up’s and the endless possibilities. The staff at the club are paid to do that.

Less emotion between games for me nowadays - rock up on a Saturday and see what the boys in blue can do.

I'm more accepting of this stuff than I was when I was younger, although every now and then I'll be in more of a mood than I should

Apart from the God bit, its how I try and see things. That and being a glass half full kind of a cat by inclination tends to make me a contented wee soul. As above though, I do get a toot on from time to time about our scoreline(s).

That's pretty much me. By the time I'm home after a defeat I'm disappointed but I've let it go. That doesn't stop me wanting to air an opinion on here (who? me?) and sometimes quite passionately but a loss doesn't make me grouchy round the house or anything like that. Hasn't done for years.

Ruins my Saturday night and most of Sunday. Back in the day when folk bought papers I would not buy them if Dees lost.

Although I must admit that if we lose I've no appetite to watch any Scottish football games/highlights/goals from that weekend.

It used to take me days to get over a poor result or performance. Nowadays I am over it by the end of the day. I still got quite down when listening to  “Open all Mics” when we are losing especially when it’s an early, late, avoidable goal.

It depends. A defeat tonight at Parkhead won't leave me inconsolable for long. A defeat in a play-off against Utd might.

In general, I'm over it within an hour and have already put perspective around it. Otherwise, it's too depressing.

Must admit, a defeat does ruin my weekend and I can be a wee bit moody, but last Saturday after the Well game I was fizzing and snapping at everyone and anyone, but that was just shear frustration at the manner of the defeat and Motherwell tactics and time wasting, and a shocking referee and linesmen, I can take being beaten by a better team fair and square, but not when we are blatantly cheated out of a win.?

Morn Abernethy ... (Thanks to yourself & everyone else for responding) I think the 'well game did it for me as weel.

Although not getting to game, I decided on this occasion to forego all afternoon media game news (inc.TDBF) by going into "closedown"  & then watch the delayed transmission on Alba ... So of course by the time that came along, I was tense & excited (by the time the game was over I was tense, angry, sad & disappointed)

Going on to the Forum after a victory extends the feelings of euphoria ... But similarly, going on here after a shock defeat & bad performance, then extends (usually the feeling of misery) Sometimes it could be said, some posters go away over the top on here after a game. ... And this is true. But I try & sympathise with those who do, trying to convince myself, we've all got to deal with these things, in our own way. Of course when I'm really down ... I am no looking for the views o' ither miserable fowk :(

Thankfully, when Monday comes...(when we are jist aboot ower it)

we get the added boost, o' the Monday Player's Newspaper Views.

And then, we can awe "rest easy" kennin" they'll fix it next game :happyno:

Is it no' great Fun being a Supporter & Fan o' the Mighty Dee?:chaplin:
