This appears to be happening tomorrow night yet I only saw it posted yesterday on official website today. Seem very short notice for an expensive, £115 a head, event?

Have I missed this being promoted earlier?

Maybe more a business peer to peer event of that makes sense.

Which perhaps hasn't sold out via the original peer-to-peer network?

Appears to be a DFC in the Community event rather than a club thing,

It was advertised a few weeks back on the official site but has been pushed more on the community trusts facebook I think,

Feb 14th - http://dundeefc.co.uk/news/charity-gala-aid-dfc-community

It's also now been postponed due to weather.

Which is why I was querying the sudden promo today...given the weather. All a bit a**e about face.

Hi BGC,

I read about it at least two weeks ago as I said to my wife that £115 was a shocking price to pay to attend that fundraising dinner.

One thing is certain it will not be the ordinary “terracing tam” Dundee supporter who would be at the dinner.

This event was set up for a fundraiser for the business that John Nelm’s wife works for. It was priced at £140 per person and didn’t sell. I’m told John Nelms then tried to save it as his wife’s business would’ve been left with huge costs, and therefore made it a DFC Community event. The price was dropped to £115 and again it didn’t sell. They must’ve been counting their blessings when the snow came and they had a reason to call it off!

I very much doubt it will be rearranged.

The company hosting this is linked to the travelling community I believe and a friend of John Nelms.

I thought it was a Dundee in the Community fundraiser which is what Steve Martin (not JN) was pushing ?

Also..."The company hosting this is linked to the travelling community I believe and a friend of John Nelms."

Not sure that Vivere (Ross Murray) is either a member of the travelling community or a friend of JN?? ?

It was a community fundraiser eventually but it was initially put together for someone else.

Don’t know the guy or the company but told it’s linked to the travelling community which is not bizarre or anything except from true.
