Pre-Match: St Johnstone (Home, 10th March 2018)

I have been a big fan of McCann and what he is trying to do at Dens, but you can’t play fancy football with the number of mediocre players we have in our squad.  Sure we had Kamara and McGowan out today but it is his job to make sure we have the depth of squad to deal with injuries and suspensions. At the end of the day we are a bottom six club, no better or no worse than the rest, so what we need is a streetwise Manager to bring in streetwise players with bundles of spirit and energy. To think that a club at our level of finance and support can compete in the top six is ridiculous. Maybe things might change if the new stadium project comes to fruition and brings financial stability. Right now what we need is a touch of realism.

Can we afford not to pay him off?

Can we afford not too, is the question we should be asking.

I would rather take a hit now than spend 3-4 years in the Championship and lose a lot more money than it would take to sack him. Short term, yes it is a lot of money, long term could do more damage to the club.

We will be relegated if we do nothing. Dundee gassed the transfer window so manager and board need to take responsibility for what is happening. We are worse that we were in December, early January, specifically before the last few days of the window. Very poor handling of that situation in my opinion. Defence now wrecked  due to the change and loss of stability and confidence. Midfield is much  poorer without Allan's vision. Murray is feeding on scraps so has no chance. Todays starting midfield was scary and got walked over.

It seems to me that the more the fans say we are in a relegation battle the more the management and the players try to talk us out of this.

Lets get together and agree we are in deep trouble and take a conscious decision to park the bus for the next set of pre split games and concentrate on defending. The only goal scorers we have are AJ and Simon Murray so let's find a way of playing on the break. If we use the next set of games as a preparation for our final set of games against the rest we may have a different and substantially better battle plan than we have at present.

It will be the games against the bottom six that determines whether we avoid playoffs or direct relegation.
