We know what to expect from the filthy fermers but I wonder if there is any advantage to be gained by the manager speaking about it to the media and/or the officials.

Thoughts?

Interesting question that Cobra ... Which eh don't really know the answer to ... (So looking forward to what others think)

When excessive fouling is going on by one team, for opposition players/managers , to simply ignore it, makes little sense.

On the ither hand, to talk about it (aggressively complain) then they are giving others ammunition to unjustly attack them.

Dinnae like at awe any team, wi a bunch o' thuggish players, facing oor players thinking they can get awa wi basic murder.

Turning the ither cheek, thinking we are no gonna go doon tae their level, disnae sit easy wi' me. Compain. And discreetly

kick the sh*t oot them as the opportunity arises ;) If refs did their jobs, it would be fine, but do they? DFC should not get

the reputation for being a "soft touch" (When I was a kid of all Scottish teams...Motherwell were a team that were known

all over Scotland as being the team to watch for the silky fitba)...Now even they are leading wi' St J's the thuggery league.

It certainly never worked in McInnes' favour. Calls Jordan out as a cheat, Jordan receives perfectly timed tackle next game and is awarded a penalty.

Good point. This might be a crap analogy but I never send food back at a restaurant for the simple reason that I assume they'll be looking for Payback (as Islay might say).

No. He needs to stop bitching and moaning to the media on a weekly basis, it’s pathetic and shows weakness.

He should concentrate on getting the tactics and formation correct.

We get kicked by other teams, the refs allow it, sadly we don’t respond in any way other than getting beat and then having a moan.

The refereeing standard is terrible generally speaking and we seem to be on the receiving end a lot of weeks as we try to play football on the deck most of the games, most of the time and don't have any hammer throwers in the team, but the "always cheated, never defeated" attitude from McCann and a lot of the fans I've seen this season stinks of a team under massive pressure that's struggling to get results.

McCann has spoke out about the officials quite strongly a few times this season and has had heated debates on the touchline with fourth officials but it hasn't got us anywhere in terms of decisions. McHugh could have been sent off twice against McGowan the other week at Dens. Teams go in front then spoil the game with every timewasting disruptive tactic in the book. The referees aren't strong enough to deal with it properly.

Some good comments there from Barrs and CW. I agree with the gist of what they're saying.

Steve Clarke said that Scotland's referees should be supported and not slaughtered.

I personally think that kind of talk is probably more helpful than the 'McCann vents anger at officials' type stuff we're used to reading.

The officiating might be p*ss-poor but do Dundee gain from our manager saying so? I doubt it.

McCann respondeds to it by doing exactly what you’re telling him not to, he complains about poor refereeing decisions when our players get kicked, just like every other manager in this league. Don’t see that as pathetic or weak.

We need to toughen up

That's was one of NM's aims before a ball was kicked this season.

But I don’t think we have dondeh, do you? Too many players eased off ball, not enough fight to get it back for me
