9 Home Wins

Recommended Posts

Just checked, we’ve had 9 home wins in 34 league matches at Dens, since the start of the 2016/17 season. It’s little wonder our home support is dropping. Add to that, the sh*t atmosphere with folk on the players backs from the 1st minute, sh*t facilities, slow languid football, very few goals from open play. It’s phucking depressing.

Cheer up mate, it could be worse.  Imagine being of the tangy persuasion

Since November the home support has watched 9 hours of league football and seen two Dundee goals from open play.

Amazingly the last time Dens saw a Dee striker score a goal from open play was AJ on his first start in September... against St Johnstone.

Dens offers very little. No entertainment, no value, no joy, nothing. Going to Dens is not a very good thought, no wonder many don’t bother.

Our attendance last are down, but some prefer to ignore it and say it’s the same. The club should be doing well right now, but we haven’t moved forward for two years, in fact I think we have regressed, but again, some can’t take that.

From the mid 1990s until our last promotion we spent 8 seasons in the top flight and 12 seasons in the second tier so re-establishing ourselves as a Premiership club is progress even if it's not very satisfying to be narrowly avoiding relegation.

Going from 6th to 8th then 10th and then on to another relegation battle where 10th looks to be the best we can hope for is not progress, mate.

Serious Question - if it's as bad as you say, why do you go?

Yes, if we take a snapshot at the moment we may not be doing as well now as 2 or even 3 years ago, but surely we are making progress compared to 20 years ago?

Establishing ourselves in top tier is progress. There will each year be a team jumping into top 6 to then fall back - like us, jagsand killie this year I suspect. To expect more in the cups I totally get but I’m not sure where people with our finances/ support expect us to progress to in league terms

I rarely do, I have watched several games on our tv service though. The standard of play is dismal.
