United play four times before we next play so we might as well take a look at second tier football for the next couple of weeks.

Tuesday sees United host Queens and the Pars visit Brechin while on Saturday the Pars are at the sticklebrick.

3. United 44pts
4. Morton 43pts
----------------------------------
5. Dunfermline 39pts
6. Queens 38pts

If the dabs win their next couple of games, a derby play-off final becomes a step closer to happening.

They’ll no get through to play off final. They’ll be lucky to make the play offs the way they’re going. Games piling up and even if they got through any team in spl will pump them in final.

You've just predicted we'll finish 8th only 5 days ago :what:

So? I predicted we'd get a draw with Aberdeen even I was fully prepared for a defeat. Why does it matter what I predict on here? It's not as if I'm parting with any cash.

Regardless of that, if United win the next couple of games to more or less confirm a play-off place that means they move a step closer to a play-off final against County or Partick or Dundee or St Johnstone or Motherwell. Is that statement acceptable for you?

They are pretty much assured of a top 4 finish, so will be in the play-offs. It's a coin-toss as to if they'll make it to the semi-final if they finish 3rd or 4th so I'll keep my fingers crossed for that.

I reckon we're 50/50 for 11th spot.

So, yep, our worst nightmare may become a reality. Not that playing them is a nightmare, but losing would be such a boot in the baws after sending them down.

Good enough idea Cobra for a New Topic during oor Quiet Period.

Although my feeling is, it's really awe aboot "them" in relation to us.

(Apologies if I'm wrong)...But on that basis, although I would prefer

to see "them" bide whar they. Or even fade awa which wid be better.

Eh widnae be too upset if they got promoted through the play-offs.

THAT IS ASSUMING WE WERE NOT INVOLVED IN ANY OF THIS :)

My total & only focus just now is on DFC's Premiership Survival:wub:

I'd hate to play United but I get the feeling that Livi might beat the top flight team in the playoffs. Best defensive record (tied with Morton) in the league and I could imagine them visiting a top flight ground and being able to execute a good counter-attacking game plan and they've also got plenty of goals in them. They are the sort of side who I could imagine going through if they hold out the first half still level and grow in confidence.

Think one way or another this will develop into a busy thread.

And a Really Busy Thread...If QOS turn over "them" tonight:chaplin:

Brechin looked a lot tighter at the back with Gadz but Nicky Clark has scored twice in a minute for Dunfermline to put that game to bed already. The Pars could potentially move to within a couple of points of United tonight.
