Kilmarnock

Recommended Posts

If the league season had started at the same time as Steve Clarke got Kilmarnock going could they have done a Leicester? For weeks now I've been expecting Killie's bubble to burst but they just keep on getting results. They must be about top of the league on recent form. Will be interesting to see if they can keep it going if the SPL ever decide to release the post split fixtures.

The other question is would you care or want it to happen? I always tell myself that it would be fantastic if anyone other than the Old Firm won the league. Deep down though I probably couldn't care less who's winning the league if it's not Dundee.

They've been the best-performing team in the league since the start of December. If they can do it for half the season surely it's possible for them to push Celtic for the whole season.

While I would be jealous I'd be happy to see a team like Killie become champions.

Be very interesting to see how they start next season. Maybe they'll find it harder.

I'll be surprised if Rangers don't go all out to get Clarke this summer though.

I think the only way we'd see a Leicester in Scotland if both the Old Firm were having an off-season at the same time - highly unlikely. It's easier to pick up points when there is less pressure so I'm not convinced Killie would keep it up if they were at the top.

Would I want them to?  Yes, why not but I'm not that interested if it's not us.

Kilmarnock fans are insufferable and truly believe they're a massive club. Even though they've been gutter life in this league scraping by for what seems like about 20 years.

Getting a load of money pumped in and having a decent three/four months doesn't really inspire too much. Their best player has said he's only here to get fit. Their top scorer is about 34. There's also every chance their manager will be off in the close season.

Good luck to them, I truly hope they go down next season preferably with Hamilton and then they both cease to exist.

Yes.

Would love to see another team win the league other than Old Firm was the first time in 33 years and counting.

Even Aberdeen who I can't stand as a club and support, I'd be happy for them.

Was wanting Hearts to win it under Burley too until they fell away.

I'd even go as far as saying I'd be happy to see Rangers win it next year as the Celtic fans celebrating massively winning the one horse race every year for over half a decade has been absolutely cringeworthy as was the whole "invincibles" stuff.

Preference 1 - Dundee obviously.

Preference 2 - Anyone but the Old Firm and United.

Preference 3 - Anyone but Celtic and United.

So, kinda like us, around our Melville phase, then? :o

Being slightly more serious, I think it's that phase of our recent existence (the Melville boom'n'bust bluster) that turned a surprising percentage of Scottish club fans against us.

It's perhaps generational, but I've always liked Killie a wee bit, their best phase was almost parallel with ours, they had some great European adventures back then. They, like Dunfermline, dropped as far as the 3rd league & took a long time to recover.

The Killie fans I know are good guys, but all close to my age, so have much the same football ups & downs, and are always a good laugh in the pub before/after the games...even when we beat them. Their younger fans, I would agree, are a bit more of a nuisance.

I think its an age thing mate, most young people are a nuisance, what with their rock n roll music and brothel creepers. :P

I describe my daughter at being at that awkward stage between 0 and 30. :lol2:
