Sad news to hear he's passed away, a few years after his ex-Dee brother Duncan died.

He was a real character. I'm pretty sure he used to puff away on a cigar while standing on the touchline back in the 80s.

Always remember his Accies team knocking Rangers out the Cup. That was a massive shock at the time.

One of the great characters of the last 50 years of Scottish football, always worth listening to. The game is poorer without him & others like him.

RIP John. A real old school manager who took no s**t from anyone. I often wonder if some of our pampered so-called stars nowadays could handle a bollocking from the likes of him, Jim McLean or Jock Wallace. On another note, I never knew he was Duncan Lambie’s brother.

I also never knew he was Duncan Lambie's brother.I will never forget Duncan Lambie's performance against AC Milan in the Fairs Cup.He was inspired driving through their defence time after time.Dont know what happened he seemed to drop out of things quickly without ever getting the potential he aspired to.Sadly lost too young and while I never knew so much about John  Lambie he seems to have been a great servant to Hamilton and Partick.Respect.
