Looking To The Summer

Obviously depending on our league status (I think we will be fine) does anyone know of players that are out of contract in the summer that would be good additions to our squad? I think sibbald from Falkirk would be a great signing and I've got to b brutally honest Scott Fraser from the dabs.

If we can get Haber and/or Moussa off the wage bill, I'd be looking at going for Conor Sammon as a replacement target man as his loan at Thistle is up and he's surplus to requirements. For a big guy who does all the dirty stuff, his goal return is respectable.

Alex Schalk and Ali Crawford are two on the out of contract top flight list who jump out at me right now and I'd take both. I also half think of maybe giving Lawless a shot to replace Randy but he hasn't had the best season and I am a bit apprehensive he might be a bit of a fair weathered player and falter here - on the fence about him.

If we are persisting with the back three next season and we do lose Caulker, I am half starting to think about maybe signing another right back (maybe even Paul McGinn) and converting Cammy to a centre back. In the 3, he has always looked quite good there (I thought he would struggle with his height) when he's filled in and his defensive side of the game is very good for me IMO. He's not the player to play at right back in a back 4 if we're planning on gradual build-up play and distributing the ball to the full backs for 90 minutes.

Reality is, we'll probably not have heard of most of the guys we do sign apart from maybe 1 or 2!

Wouldn't want Sammon - not if we are looking to progress as a club. Agree tho that Haber n Moussa shouldn't be at Dundee next season if we are SPL.

Brandon Barker is a player id be looking at if we could afford , he`s on loan from Man City to Hibs currently

Sibbald would be a quality signing. Fraser going to Hearts apparently. Crawford and Schalk big yes to both. I would like to see us go for Ryan Hardie, can't see Rangers offering him a new deal and certainly knows where the goal is

Yeah maybe not, I do think he's pretty brutal to watch tbh. Just don't want to make the mistake of having no big physical forwards and then making a September free agent panic signing of any guy over 6ft. I think we need at least one player to be able to play direct to, especially if we're going to be bringing in some of the youngsters to play a bit more.

I think Barker will be English Championship bound, unfortunately (or fortunately if he doesn't have to play against us!). He'll be some player once he improves on his finishing a wee bit.

Aye a get what you mean re the need for a physical striker but would like to think we could do better than Sammon.
Aye Barker prob a bit unrealistic but if he likes it up Scotland and we could afford id love him at Dens , don't think he`s week in week out for Hibs either , just anytime ive seen him I thought that you can see he`s a player.

I mentioned Connor sammon on another thread and got ridiculed for it but I think he would be good for us, he's scored a few for a very poor partick side that don't create much. Ali Crawford would be a great signing but can see him going down south. Think next season nm will go with a back three of caulker meekings and kusunga so a right back might not be on the shipping list.

Would like to see us keep kamara and get a big bruiser beside him winning the ball and give it to him

From memory is Osmon from Partick not out of contract this summer? Him and Kamara would be a decent partnership.

I think Osman already turned down a move to Dundee because Partick pay him well and being in Glasgow makes it easier to visit his family every week.

If they do go down, and he’s on a very good wage they won’t offer him a new deal unless he’s takes a massive pay cut.

Didn’t actually realise he was 31, I thought he was mid 20s.

I see Osman launched his own fashion range called 'It's not easy' and got Paul Pogba to pose for him.

Pogba posted on his Instagram page

He wouldn't have to look far for a willing helper if he came to Dens.

From a distance, Haber looks abit like Caulker with specks on.

Or maybe I’m the one needing specks.

Having said that, is the much quoted (on here) Ali Crawford not nearing that age?

I would take Spittal and mcginn from thistle assuming they're doomed. Fraser from Arabs would be great but not likely given hearts rumour. Boyce from about to be relegated side. Cannae mind the team. Right sided middy a must. Stewart?

Crawford is 26, same age Stewart was when he left Dundee. I can see us being in for him.

I didn't realise he was still relatively young. Seems to have been around forever.

I can't believe that such a highly rated player has remained at Hamilton for so long. Every year he seems to be linked with a big move but it doesn't happen. I suppose there's a reason for that. Maybe he's inconsistent like Harkins.

Sure Boyce plays for Burton Albion, would be a good singing.

Yes that's it. Burton. Imagine the difference he'd make to us. Top 6 for sure.

Would love us to sign Boyce but Burton paid half a million for him, he's tied down until 2020 and is their main man up front. They're heading to League One but I imagine the club will be keen for him to help them get promoted. Seems unlikely they'd write off their investment to let him go to Dundee.
