Mom Ref Polls

Are we not having a MoM poll today because Moussa would win it by the proverbial country mile? :stirthepot:

:happyyes:

And as for that ref.....apart from being as rank incompetent as they usually are, this one was also very one-sided in the way he punished (or ignored) certain fouls. A yellow for a home tackle, a finger-wagging for visitors. Two Saintees hatchetmen subbed before their next foul gave them a second yellow.

Great result, almost a carbon copy of the win at McDairmid, with early/late goals, and two very big fingers up to Wright & the rest of the wee haters. It should be mentioned, though, that Zander Clark took the fairly constant 2nd half stick from the BC in good nature, had a few laughs at some comments & never once retaliated.

Zander Clark came out of it very well, especially after he launched a goal kick right into the away dug out and got pelters - top marks to him for that.

The praise for Moussa's performance has been underwhelming but not unexpected. Some folk are obviously just waiting for the next opportunity when he 'doesn't score from open play'.

Spot on with the ref observations. Just another incompetent to add to the ever growing list.

Caulker for M.o.M......an English premier style performance.A cut above any player on our books .  Ref.should have sent one or more Saints players off  and ignored  loads of fouls by them IMHO.Dreadful performance.

For MOTM, there can be only one.

I thought the Ref was poor overall, about the 80 minute mark he yellow carded a Saintee for a tackle on The Moose which looked like a really good tackle to me. The Main stand linesman didn't seem to be too bothered about the whole offside thing either.

It was good to see the other players so keen to congratulate Moussa at full time.

He's obviously a popular character and they know the work he puts in - and that we're less effective when he doesn't play.

Simon Murray was straight out the dugout and joining in the celebrations which was good to see. They do seem to have good morale which is important.

the mainstand linesman was shockingly bad just like last time he was here

Radio said that Kusumga yellow card was a brilliant tackle

It was, and one like that on any one of a few Saintee hammer-throwers was long overdue....just as well it was Kusunga & not Gowser, getting up after Kusunga has just wiped you out, you wouldn't argue!

I guess the (inappropriate) yellow was for his momentum after he got the ball.....or maybe just because he wasn't wearing a yellow shirt. :o

Too many refs giving fouls and cards based on the reaction of the player being tackled.  Rolling about in 'agony' and then up sprinting about 60 secs later.

Definitely was, but so was one of the tackles that a saints player made who also got booked for it. Poor ref

Finally something we agree on!!!!!!!!

He certainly did an Oscar winning   performance near to the corner at the rhs side of the Cox looking from the Derry  .  Maybe he was really hurting.  We all thought that he would have to go off but he was up after  a delay and off like a whippet when he came back on. He certainly brings some chat/ banter to the fans. . Maybe he is just a quick recovery expert .   :D ;)

Agree with this. Two quality tackles by Kusunga and Shaughnessy. Both booked.

It's not unusual to see fouls given after a clean tackle. For that reason I don't like to see our players diving into tackles in the box because you can end up playing the ball with a fair challenge and still conceding a penalty.
