The Last 10 Minutes

Brought it home to me why I'm a football fan.

We sit through so much dross and despair but the moments of magic make it all worthwhile. I honestly thought we were going to see it out 1-0 as Saints hadn't been as effective as in the first half, although they hit the bar. Then they equalise, and you think maybe a point would be ok.

85-88 minutes the players and fans seem to lose it for the first time in the game, it was panicky. I was in the Coxy and heard very little adverse comment all game, I may add.

The sheer elation and relief when Moussa's header hit the net, and we got a great view of it...well, it's never felt better. Probably because it was Moussa finally coming good, with a classic header. I thought at the time it was one of the best goals I'd seen at Dens, but maybe I'm getting carried away.

Totally agree mate, moments like that make all the weekends sitting through defeats and terrible performances worthwhile, and they only come along every so often so you have to make the most of them.

To be fair, judging by the scenes in the home stands each and every Dee certainly made the most of it!

Now for the anxious wait for Sportscene to see if I can be seen running down the Bobby Cox stairs and jumping about like a madman ??

I couldn't make it yesterday and I was really jittery all day catching the odd update as we hung on to the 1-0 lead.

The elation I felt at the final score was terrific.

Hopefully the guys realise that we are still not over the line, a point on Saturday would be good, 3 points and we are surely all but safe.

For the 86 minutes or so between our goals, I thought our inability to get a second was likely to lead to more despair, and when they equalised, I felt they looked more likely than us to find a winner. A very frustrating performance much of the time.

But those final 4 minutes more than make up for the despair, and yes, these are the moments that remind us why we we love the game & our club, in spite of all the adversity & mediocrity we've endured for many years. It was indeed a classic header, Gillie would have smiled at that one...powered down onto the line, in the corner, no chance even for a 6'6" keeper.....and something Moussa's entire game deserved. Great deep cross from Kerr too, showed some signs in 2nd half of his performances of last season.

Getting carried away is what it's all about.....and in the context, a crucial relegation-fight game against the wee haters, any last minute winning goal is going to feel like one of the best!

Yes. What a fantastic result. Yes to be honest I was deflated when they got the equaliser but when The Moose got the winner wow. Great to see that the team not content with a point, giving us fans a happy weekend.???

After watching it on TV, the winning goal was a very good one but maybe not quite as good as I made out. And I could swear it went top right corner, my angle, not bottom left. The surprise element blew me away though, so definitely up there with one of the most memorable goals at Dens. I don't go to all the games, so missed a few crackers.

The way Steven Maclean celebrated in front of the Derry, thinking he'd secured a point. He must've felt a right d!ck a few minutes later :lol2:

What I found to be hilarious was the   crazed   Saints

going into hyperdrive when they equalised  and charging about like Dervishes all over the empty   part of the  Shankly , then the  silent exodus   so soon afterwards.  Heeeeee.
