Cant see the aftermath thread so just to go over some things.
Didn't think we played well at all on sat and in large parts ST J were the better side however it wasn't about a great performance , it was about getting 3 massive points - which we did.
When they levelled I said to mate that they will prob go on to win this game as I could never have seen us get a 2nd.
Moussa MOM but also big shout out to Caulker who I thought was immense.
Also thought Wighton was very good and great to see that he`s bulked up a bit.

Felt NM got it spot on yesterday even making McGowan captain was correct decision (tho didn't think he or midfield was that good esp O`Hara)

We weren't great but who cares as 3 points is huge.
The ref was garbage , he didn't seem to want to hand any fermers a yellow card and thought some of ours was soft yellows.
I did think it was a bad move by NM keeping the spat going before game but it paid off as it seemed to lift the Derry so felt everything worked out in NM favour... we could now get something from Motherwell game.

Sunday was the 1st time in a good few months I've felt we were not at risk of going down.  We're not completely out of the woods yet, but I feel we're gonna be OK.  I reckon the fixtures did us a favour by giving us the 2 teams with nothing to play for first up IMO.

Actually felt St J played it like it did mean something - esp the reaction of there fans and players when they scored.

Aye im more confident now after SAT

I know what you are saying CC - but when push comes to shove I reckon actually needing points is a greater motivator than whatever was driving St J on Saturday (Small Team mentality/"Derby" thing /McCann's pre-match comments etc).  That said, it's about how you manage the pressure attached to needing points - we did that on Saturday and at the same stage last season too.
