Hibs V Killie Highlights

Just watched them.. Allan is some player and both teams had everything we dont. Pace, power, aggression, strength and shooting ability.

in saying that I did not think we looked too bad in our short highlights package. We just seem to lack belief, conviction and a few of the above.

The gaffer wouldn’t play him. No wonder he wanted to leave. Absolutely baffled why he thought elbak/wolters/ohara were better options.

From Fitba Facts:-

Hibs have a total home attendance of 325,146 this season, that's...

- More than 10 of the 20 clubs in La Liga

- More than 10 of 20 clubs in Serie A

- More than 10 of 20 clubs in Ligue 1

- 31,839 more than Hearts

- 60,004 more than Aberdeen

Interesting set of figures bud, although for the life of me, I can’t see what they have to do with DFC. :)

Hibs have played 2 more home games than Hearts. Hearts have a bigger average attendance than Hibs I think.

Just think Lennon is a good manager and knows what he wants from his players , NM talks about us in a way that you`d think we were watching Hibs.

It seemed an exceptional, open, game....with lots of incident, and the unusual sight of the 'calm' manager sent to the stand while the 'excitable' manager behaved himself.

.....one wee (red) amendment though :)

Our highlights on Sportscene didn't show the extent to which we 'battered' the Motherwell defence/goal in the final 10-15 minutes, not did it show by far the worst of our misses, AJ's unnecessary extra touch to make his target even smaller, which he also overhit.

It was a fairly open & evenly matched game, and we did actually play some good stuff at time....to balance out the stuff that would have you tearing your hair out, if I had enough to get hold of.

It was interesting listening to Robinson's interview, highlighting how important dead ball moves are, with so many games very tight, and that to emphasise his point all 3 goals came from dead balls. Just a pity we seemed so unprepared for theirs, especially the lack of organisation for their winner, with no-one paying any attention to Kipre wandering round the back unmarked behind Holt, who already had his man covered.

Excellent summary WS. I'd actually forgotten AJ's extra touch fiasco....

Allan didn't want to play for us ...f**k him we move on ..

I think he clearly did at the time from his performances and interviews. Never understood the criticism he got from a minority when he was here and certainly don't understand it now he's gone.

We (one of the worst teams in the league) somehow managed to get him on loan from the biggest and best club in the country. He was our main man creative wise. He had an injury and operation in the middle of his spell with us but came back and delivered again for us to become our main and pretty much only creative threat again.

The 2nd best (arguably) team in the country this season came calling to the biggest and best team in the country on transfer deadline day and asked if they could have him on loan.

He joined them and now starts and stars week in and week out for arguably the 2nd best team in the country this season playing in front of almost 4 times as many fans as we get.

We didn't even start him half the time he was available for our all season long relegation threatened struggling team. We had a top drawer player and we struggled to make full use of him.

We move on as you say, but boy have we missed him.

You don’t half like to belittle our team mate, why are we even discussing a guy who was on loan to us, played a handful of games, then asked to leave, I agree with Charlie, he is no longer anything to do with Dundee, forget him and move on.

I never started the thread and was just catching up with the forum and responded with my opinion on the player and what I seen as animosity with a couple of posters saying "fk him".

His pass for Hibs 4th goal was phenomenal and he scored again too. He's been massively impressive for them as they battle for 2nd place.

Did he ask to leave or did Hibs simply enquire about him and he chose the bigger club? Did he even have a choice in the 3 way deal?

I'm not sure how I'm belittling our team and I certainly don't like to. I just call it how I see it and unfortunately the last 2 seasons have been majorly disappointing in all 3 competitions. Hibs meanwhile have been excellent and are pushing for 2nd place.

We only have McCann,s version of events regarding Allen’s move to Hibs, personally I believe him. Hibs and indeed Allen may well be excellent and pushing for second, and if you want to talk them up that’s your choice, personally speaking, I have no interest in what they do, I just prefer to talk my own club up.

Not sure how talking facts can be seen as belittling our team.

I just don't understand why the same three or four posters feel the need to have a dig at anyone having the temerity to suggest we might not have been very good this season, when we haven't been.

The problem with players like Allan is we can't afford to carry a passenger for the majority of a game...hibs have better players than us so can carry Allan hoping he does a bit of magic ...like I said he wanted away f**k him ..

I am well aware we have not had a very good season. Not for the first time bud you miss my point, or more likely, refuse to see it. Your accusation that I am having a dig at another poster is way of the mark, but predictable.

As is the tone of your reply and the fact you never answered a perfectly reasonable question. It's not that I didn't understand your post, or that I'm refusing to. You didn't really make a point, other than to say Allan wasn't worth discussing, when folk were already discussing him.

How was what CW said belittling Dundee?

To be honest I think this is the crux of the matter with regard to SA. I could never say his early appearances were anything more than adequate combined with great potential imo. He never looked near 100% fit to me and often looked like he struggled to last the 90 minutes.  I agree with Charlie in that imo he was a luxury player, who was never going to get involved in the dirty work to any great extent and when it wasn't coming off for him (which was fairly often at that time) he was a passenger.  Bottom line is though we couldn't afford him as a luxury or a passenger as we were usually carrying another passenger or two at the same time.
