Website Update Changes: Please Read Important.

As most of you probably have seen, the website has undergone a few changes and some of them are pretty important for the running of the forum.

We upgraded the forum on Monday from IPS community 4.2.7 to 4.3.1 and there were many changes, some which might not be so noticeable.

Due to the changes, the Forum theme, applications and plugin had to be updated. If something is not working as expected, can you please report this to us at our new Support Area.

I will run down some of the changes which may directly affect our users (and some that might not).

  1. Improved Search: The sites search feature has always been a bit of a hit or miss. The changes to the sites search should mean that you will find what you are looking for. Changes include default settings being changed, new search option such as the types of search parameters.

    Behind the scenes, our search function will use Elasticsearch, which should improve our search functions even more in the future.
  2. Emoji: The site now uses Twitter style Emoji's by default. The old ones are there for backward compatibility only and we will remove them at one point. The new Emoji system is also compatible with most smartphones.
  3. Automatic Community Moderation: This version of IPS also introduces 'Automatic Community Moderation' and improved Reporting. I will outline this more in another topic. Automatic Community Moderation are a set of of rules to define how many unique member reports a piece of content needs to receive before it's automatically hidden from view and moderators notified. 
  4. Club Features: Our club features have been updated to include invite-only options, notifications, exposure on the main community pages, paid memberships, and more.

Other Community Changes

Support Changes

We have removed the Members Support Forum, in favour of an actual Support Desk which can be accessed here.

This system allows as to give you a 1 to 1 support, where you can keep track of your support questions on the forum. You can use this for anything such as:

  • General Inquires,
  • Member Account Issues,
  • Warning and Bans,
  • Subscription and Payments,
  • Feedback or Technical Issues,
  • Press or Media

Please note: We will no longer be taking support questions via Private Messages or the Contact Us forum. We cannot guarantee a response to your support questions via PM or the Contact Us form because of issues that we sometimes have with Emails not reaching us (Especially with the Contact Us)

Subscriptions and Donations

We now have a proper subscription service for Gold Membership and Donations. One of the biggest changes is that we now accept payments for Credit Cards as well as PayPal.

We have made it even more convenient for our Members who wish to donate to the forum using Credit Card. When donating to the forum, you will be given the opportunity to use your Credit Card at the checkout.

You will be able to manage your client details and information from our Clients Area which will show your Client information, Donations, orders and Managed Purchases with us.

If you wish to setup a recurring donation, please contact us for details.

If you already have a Gold Membership with us, your details will not show up in the client area as we cannot port the information over to our new software. I am currently working on a way of doing this. If your Gold Membership runs out, please feel free subscribe again using our new Subscription method.
