Clean Sheets

Last night was the first time since November 2016 that we've had clean sheets in successive games. Then we beat Hamilton 1-0 away followed by Motherwell 2-0 at home (with David Mitchell in goal). League clean sheet stats for our keepers are since we were promoted are.

2017/18; Parish 7, Bain 0.

2016/17; Bain 4, Mitchell 2.

2015/16; Bain 7;

2014/15; Bain 3, Letheren 3.

So Bain has 14 in 107 games, and Parish 7 in 25. That's in spite of playing his whole Dundee career under Neil McCann who doesn't believe in draws, which obviously leaves keepers exposed when we chase a winning goal rather than protecting a clean sheet late on.

Was that Motherwell game the one when we were very lucky (like hand of God lucky ?) to keep a clean sheet ?

2016-17 should have two clean sheets for Mitch' he played at Hamilton and at home to Motherwell

Thanks. Corrected in original post. It's still four clean sheets for Bain though. I hadn't credited that one to anyone.

I promised John I would be on my best behaviour from now on, so I’m not commenting on this thread ??

But Rumples stats don’t lie ?

Stats can be misleading sometimes.

Bain didn't play some of his games with Caulker in front of him. Makes a huge difference.

Parish has won me around but I still don't think he is anywhere near Bain in ability.

15 Mar 2014 A Livingston             W 2-0

18 Mar 2014 H Raith Rovers        D 0-0

22 Mar 2014 A Dumbarton           W 1-0

25 Mar 2014 H Queen of Sth       W 1-0

I really like both keepers tbh. Bain was our best keeper since Speroni. The fact that we've not really missed him speaks volumes of Parish. The stats don't really say much about any keepers ability.

The most horrific goalkeeping I've seen in years was in a game where we kept a clean sheet  (Mitchell vs Motherwell ).

We kept four successive clean sheets in 2016 if you include the cup...

Dumbarton 0-0 Dundee
Dundee 2-0 St Johnstone
Killie 0-0 Dundee
Dundee 5-0 Dumbarton

A clean sheet this weekend would I think be our first time this century clean keeping three successive clean sheets in the top flight.

You weren't wrong......got any side-by-side gifs with Kirk Douglas & Val Kilmer at the O.K. Corral in 1957/1993?
