Both our target men have been poor this season but based on each individual's first season with us, who do you consider to be the better player?

While Moussa was a bit of a donkey at times, we played better with him in the team and he gave his all for the club. It also looked like he was starting to get to grips with the game and scored a few vital goals( from open play) in the last few games he played for us.

Haber on the other hand I would consider this season to be a total write off based on his injury problems. However, in my opinion his first season for us was great. His hold up play was fantastic and he scored a few good goals. He saved us that year.

Most of the talk these days is about how much of a style icon he is etc but if a fully fit and motivated Haber was still with us for next season, can he do a job for us?

Fully fit and motivated Haber is a major asset to us but not sure it will happen.

I agree!

You just have to look at his performance against United in the league cup. Best man on the park and he had a point to prove.

That is the Haber I want to see at Dens. Not the lazy git who can't be arsed half the time.

Both on form; first half of the season - Haber. Moussa spent his first few months charging into players and didn't seem to understand that throwing players over merited a foul so would then take temper tantrums and then make his relationship with the referees even worse. On times, it was verging on embarrassing.

Second half of the season - Moussa. He managed to channel a lot of that energy and aggression he had really positively and his judgement improved massively in terms of giving away stupid fouls. I could point to a fair few games where I thought he put in really great performances and the team benefited.

The issue with Haber that I think is a problem is the lack of drive in his game. He's very good at winning things in the air and he's a great tool to have. His chance to goal ratio has been reasonable enough and I think he's demonstrated good ability. What he doesn't give us though is that ability to defend from the front and really barge defenders over and make life difficult to them when the service is poor.

My ideal plan for next season would involve offloading Haber and replacing him with someone with a good goal return who could theoretically play ahead of or alongside Moussa. I don't really see Haber getting fit and turning himself into the perfect player for our system tbh. I also think Moussa could be a brilliant impact sub with his style of play (he could cause absolute chaos fully charged against tired minds IMO).

Haber saved us from relegation in his first season. Was an absolutely vital player. We played to his strengths and that got us over the line. Haber this season has contributed almost nothing. His one good performance in the derby makes his other performances so frustrating. Granted he's been injured a bit but I think there is more to it than that. A cynic would say he's been quite happy to sit out injured. I get the impression that McCann and Haber fell out start of the season. Possibly McCann told him he wasn't in his plans?

Moussa gives everything and has improved as the season went on. He's gone from being a player I didn't want starting to a player that I worried how we would perform when he wasn't available. He is good at linking play but I doubt he'll ever be a goal scorer.

Next season I think we should be trying to offload Haber. Hopefully Moussa will continue to improve.

Moussa all day long. Haber has it in his locker to play at a higher level than Dundee but his posing and posturing take precedence over his willingness to consistently bring his A game on a match day. Frustrating, annoying, infuriating even. Moussa tries like hell and you can see he is desperate to be accepted here. His attitude alone has won me over and I hope his efforts bear fruit for him next season.

Haber by a mile.

He never played again after scoring against St Johnstone away end of December did he? (injured),  So don't think it's fair to comment on his contribution second half of last season when he was out injured.

Moussa has improved and won most fans over second half of the season (including me) but Haber is undoubtedly the better player out the two.

Some amount of pie in the sky revisionism going on here tbh.

I agree.

Saying Moussa who eventually turned up for about a third of the season is a better player than established Scottish top flight forward and Canadian international Haber is exaggerating a forward who had a poor season but improved and came good in a couple of games.

Depends how we're judging them I suppose. In the fashion stakes there is only one winner...

Haber has been here considerably longer. Tell me, how long has he ‘turned up’?

Fraser Aird and Chris Pozniak are/we’re Canadian internationalists. Let’s not go trying to blow that trumpet please, for your own good.

Edit : ‘established’ bombed out of Perth and wouldn’t be missed at a struggling Dundee. Established indeed.
