Was wondering what folk think about his current/future role at the club.

It's obvious he is well thought of by the bosses:-

  • Supported through injury
  • New contract
  • Domestic and international remit with youth development.

Do the club see this as money well invested for youth development and/or something more senior in the future?

I remember reading or hearing something when he joined the club about him being groomed as a potential replacement for Hartley, maybe just speculation at the time but he seems to want to get into coaching/management side of things and maybe him and Nelms have a mutual like and respect for each other and so both keen to make things work.

I agree. Fast forward and change potential Hartley for potential McCann.

Still think Mccann will be a very good manager for Dundee...No doubt about it he had a wobbly season but so have all young managers and Mccann is smart enough to learn from his mistakes

Totally agree Jim. I think he'll be whipped away from a bigger club, just like Archie, as he's on the cusp of something great here. Just my gut feeling. Think he's too ambitious to hang around here too long.

Far too early to tell for me. Made the same mistakes over and over last season and seemed determined to make the game as complex as possible at times.

However we also looked good on the odd occasion and we did, in general, improve player for player against last season, even if we didn't really as a team.

Next season is where we'll begin to see what McCann's all about.
