Hi Gedee,

Thank you for your kind advice. You will probably have noticed that I was posting my local knowledge about South Kintyre and share information about The Dundee United Football Company Limited. If I receive any stupid replies then I would stop posting on this topic.

I must admit that I enjoyed posting about our memories of “Auld Dundee” on the other forum.

No mention of foul language?. Double standards?.🤔

Hi Rev,

I try not to sink to the level of using gutter language to try to get a point across.

I wasn't trying to be smart, I'm genuinely interested in the difference between the makey up word 'Feckin' in a sentence and calling someone a 'daft auld bu**er'.

One seems to have caused offence.

I'm sure (hope) you realise Rev, the reference o "smert-erse" wis a tongue in cheek comment.

Hi Rev,

You are probably not aware that Gedee and I discovered whilst previously posting  on the ‘other’ forum on the Auld Dundee topic that we had a common denominator.

Gedee was a pupil at the Joeys at the same time as my father was a PE teacher there. My father was a PE teacher at ten different primary schools in Dundee from Monday to Friday spending either a morning or afternoon in each school.

Therefore I do not take offence in any the replies that Gedee makes to my posts  which includes word bu**er as I know that there is no malice intended.

However the word ‘Feckin’ is used by some posters because they are not allowed to post the swearing  alternative word and I am pretty sure that they are using it because they are annoyed with someone’s post.

The word bu**er could stand the word butter!

Hi Gedee,

I was reading your post to my wife and she thinks that is was brilliant. Cundy  is a Dundee word and if we mention outwith Dundee, people do not have a clue what we are speaking about.

In Islay they call them drains.

Eh ken it's not nice to go off- topic, on a regular basis ... And I honestly & genuinely understand the frustration,

that others feel, when they come on to a Headed Topic & land doon the Rabbit Hole in Mad Alice's Wonderland.

But in my case, sometimes the topic is already weel off (or should be) And eh like to introduce a wee bit fun :chaplin:

Eh blame it on "The Voices" ... Sometime's there's no controlling them. Disnae metter how many tablets eh tak
