I was reading about Mauricio Pochettino and how his fitness and conditioning work is paying off at Spurs. The squad do double training sessions and currently there is not a single injury at the club while the team has scored more goals in the last five minutes than any other team.

I thought we had an impressive fitness regime but given the horrendous injury problems you wonder if we could improve in this area.

Yes Cobra, without knowing what goes on behind the scenes, I think we have a right to question this.

This is one area, I thought, under the management of PH and his own selected backroom boys, where there would be significant improvement.

I am not sure there is.  But it could be the age of the players and "old injuries" coming back to haunt them   Work in progress maybe ?

Ferry, much like Thomson, had a horrific injury record before coming to Dens. The fact these boys miss a lot of games isn't a reflection on our fitness regime, more Hartley's decision to take a punt on 2 permacrocks.

Think Ferry has missed alot of criticism of being a crock!

Was he not out through ill health rather than injury earlier in season?

Thought he had a very good game in the league cup derby but other than that has been disappointing.

He was injured then was struck down with bronchitis.

To be fair to the Dundee coaching staff & fitness team the difference between us and Spurs will be night & day.We can never match the thorough regime they have at Spurs, mostly due to finance.Fitness is a science. The double sessions wont be miles of running,Spurs will have all the latest technologies to compliment their training regime. The Spurs fitness guys can monitor every single aspect of the players fitness & wellbeing.

What the Spurs players do away from training is also vitally important,as important as the actual training in maintaining peek fitness.

I don't think our players will have the same desire to follow a regimental fitness regime away from the training field.

Yeh disapointing as he has shown that he is a good player... Like Thomson, when fit they are of a real good standard, but its that old saying again...if fit!!
