TheDarkBlues Posted 26 December 2018 Posted 26 December 2018 How did you rate Jim McIntyre's team selection, substitutions and performance today?
Guest Posted 26 December 2018 Posted 26 December 2018 I’m genuinely interested in peoples thoughts today. The last 3 humpings were down to McCann and his players. Does McCann get any credit for today’s point?
Valentke Posted 26 December 2018 Posted 26 December 2018 I'll give some credit to NM for the one point and also give him lots more credit for it not being three.
BigG Posted 26 December 2018 Posted 26 December 2018 I’ve certainly seen improvement under McIntyre, however, this is not a hard task as NMc made coco the clown look a tactical genius.! If McIntyre keeps this Dundee side up it would be the biggest achievement since -25 point campaign. 1
chomp my root Posted 26 December 2018 Posted 26 December 2018 The last minute change from Woods to Kamara aside, which I'm assuming he had no control over, I'd say he got it more or less right. We needed to get in Livi's faces as its the way they play, we had guys out there who were willing to do that, some not so much but that's not their game. Bringing on Nabi was an odd one I thought, maybe giving him a last chance to impress, maybe not universally popular but I'd have been tempted to replace Kamara with Spence rather than take C Miller off. Opinions will vary I'm sure. 1
barkblue Posted 27 December 2018 Posted 27 December 2018 Gave him a 3. Hardly a managerial masterclass, but when we can barely fill the bench because the squad is so bereft of options I'm not sure what else he is meant to do. Quite bizarre reading the personal campaigns being played out in just about every thread on here this week.

Bizzare statement since we are an almost an insurmountable 4 points behind the all conquering Hamilton and 2 behind St Mirren.

Not really, statistically only 2 teams in 20 years has survived whilst being bottom at Xmas. We have the poorest goal scoring in the league and the worst defence, a subs bench yesterday full of kids and only 2 wins all season. maybe you see it slightly different tho, you say only 2 points and 4 points behind.

I think I read on here recentky one of those teams was a JM team.

I don't think this is a stat we need to worry about. In recent years Dundee, Hearts and United had too much ground to make up from Christmas onwards so they understandably didn't survive. The fact we are the worst team in the league half way through the season is obviously a concern and we are certainly contenders to go down but whether we were 10th, 11th or 12th on Christmas Day is not particularly significant. We're in the mix to go down with St Mirren and Accies but we're also in a decent position to get out of trouble.
