He spent a couple of years down south which didn't quite work out. Thought he was a good player but he seemed to be found out when stepping up a level. Can't remember which Dee tried to sign in the past, could've been as far back as John Brown. Must admit I was surprised when he returned to Morton and thought at the time that it maybe showed a lack of ambition. Tidser to be one of these guys who just fits a certain club and he's a real fans favourite at Morton. Maybe, with JM playing a more simplistic style of football, he can get the best out of guys like Tidser though.
Ricky Spanish Posted 8 January 2019 Posted 8 January 2019 (edited) Record are reporting that we are in for Jim O'Brien after he rejected a new deal at Bradford this week. Edited 8 January 2019 by Ricky Spanish
dblair Posted 8 January 2019 Posted 8 January 2019 Bloody hell another ex county player, I keep getting this thought in my head when I read all these names. It’s like the avengers except it would be entitled “staggies assemble” 4

harry94 Posted 8 January 2019 Posted 8 January 2019 I don't think we'll sign O'Brien. Too similar to Woods

If the Soccerway formation is right then maybe O'Brien could be a contender to replace Calvin Miller on the left flank. Transfermrkt say he's a central midfielder who can play on both the left and right, so he might be a bit similar to Woods like you say.

If you have a wee look through Transfermarkt, O'Brien has only really covered there a couple of times in the last season or two - he moved position at the end of that season with the consensus being that he's far too slow to play it now. Not saying he's not good enough to play a role but I just think he'd ineviteably be inside and we've mabe got that option aready.
Reverend Lovejoy Posted 8 January 2019 Posted 8 January 2019 Bradford fans disappointed that O'Brien has left as they seemed to rate him. Their club were only extending his deal until the end of the season. Notts County fans on their forum think that they have signed O'Brien but it hasn't been confirmed by the club yet. Apparently they've given him the longer deal he was after.
