Was a strange decision to let him go even if he was struggling in December. He was arguably our best player during our horrendous start to the season.

Just a wee hunch but I don't think that he followed tactical instruction that well and seemed to get psychological fatigue where he'd just start to switch off and fall out the game, maybe making some late unnecessary challenges and being in the wrong place.

Jesse gets a lot of stick but I really can't phantom this idea that he is lazy defensively, he always tracks back and slots into that right back position when Cammy is displaced and whilst he maybe doesn't have the ability to tackle that well, he does put pressure on and stick to his role well. He's a frustrating player and does some daft stuff but I think he's mostly sticking to what he's been asked to do.

Calvin was maybe better than Jesse when he did make challenges etc and made less stupid errors but I get the impression that he was a bit headless off the ball. I'm not saying he didn't try and I think he was a good option to have but I could see why a manager in our situation would take the option to use the money elsewhere - especially if they are getting grief from the parent club (which someone on here mentioned we were complained about for subbing him).

I suppose it's quite hard to tell with this sort of thing but I think McIntyre's approach has been to try and grind us into a more streetwise side and then look at adding some flair. You can be a creative player but if you can't be deployed in a way that meets the primary objective, it's a problem and you need to have plenty of end product to get away with it.

I've been particularly critical of Jesse. I'm not against him as a player but I do think he currently has his limitations. I totally agree that he tracks back, there's no doubt about that. I just think think he lacks the mentally, at this stage, to fully understand the defensive side of his game. I've often seen him back in the defensive third but seemingly unaware of what's going on around him. If he can't tackle then I'd rather he left that to Cammy and just concentrated on matching any runs off the ball. He's got bags of pace so there's no many who'll run away from him, he maybe just lacks the awareness to anticipate the runs.

I like Jessie Curran. I want him signed up longer term. He has huge potential IMO. Regards Calvin Miller i thought bar the game v Rangers (interestingly) he was a liability. Stick with Curran he wants to play for Dundee and he is starting to really cause teams problems. He can cross too. Mcintyre will help him develop. Could be worth a few quid in 2 years.....

Agree. He has some talent and just needs experience to go with his basic talent. Sign him up.

Is Lee Wallace the permanent deal that JM's been working on and hinted at late last week?. Maybe Wallace is waiting on a pay off?. Would make perfect sense. A Rangers ST holder seemed to think so when I spoke to him today. He reckons the McCrorie rumour I heard last week was a load of bull.

I hope your right, a left side of Wallace and Ralph would be superb, two great athletes who can both get up and down and attack as well as defend. That would put Dales over to the right hand side with either Cammy or Horsefield behind him in my opinion.

I noticed when doing some digging that Wallace is actually coaching Kelty’s youth team. Think he started when Ferguson got the top job there. Not sure how that would work

That's exactly what I was thinking. Got to be in both Dundee & Rangers interests to at least attempt to get this deal done.

We’ve no chance at signing Wallace. Absolutely no chance. Why would a player of his calibre come to Dundee giving our present situation lingering with relegation.
