It’s a tragedy that a guy that did so much to save our club is the architect of our relegation to the championship.

I truly hope that our BOD (if we indeed have one) recognises the part they have played in our downfall.

The next few weeks will show wether FPS really have the interests of DFC at heart.

I'm glad it's points that decide relegation rather than the gut feeling of Dundee fans.

We're only four points behind 10th placed Hamilton, a team we battered 4-0 earlier this month.

Losing at home to St Johnstone is never pleasant but they do have the best away record in the league and their current away form is probably the best in their history. 18 points out of 18. No goals conceded outside Perth since September.

Crucially St Mirren and Accies lost so nothing has changed for us. We've got a few weeks to strengthen the squad and then 51 points to play for. I'd have bitten your hand off when McIntyre took over for us to be in our current position at the end of the year.

We are definitely, and very luckily, still in this. He needs to be allowed to strengthen the side, which will require at least five players.  That wont be easy at this time of the year though.

To be fair he could recruit from the juniors and get better than some of McCann's signings.

Great manager at a well run club....

FPS do back the club, absolutely no doubt about that. They cover the financial losses that the club make annually.

Im led to believe we pay excellent wages, more than 6 other teams in the league, basic wages of £2100 p/w for players who can’t even make the subs bench. This is unsustainable and we no more than most what happens when people stop paying the wages!

Our playing budget is way more than St Johnstone yet was there one player from our starting 11 that would get into there starting 11? Not from what I seen.

January I fear is the biggest in many a year, this could have implications on and off the park.

Aye but as far as in aware it’s FPS frontman Nelms who is handing out these ridiculous contracts to sub standard players. Nelms has to shoulder the blame for these losses for sanctioning the last two managers to the sign the standard of players they have. In what 5 years in the premier league we have overhauled the squad about 6 times. Utterly ridiculous that we have gone backward since being promoted.

Alarm bells were ringing for me a couple of months ago with Nelms when 18 months after appointing a complete novice he told the press that he would only consider candidates with at least 10 years' experience.

To go from one extreme to the other just smacks of incompetence.

Unfortunately I think the same mistake was made on the playing side with experience being totally overlooked. I wouldn't be surprised if we signed those non-league players from down south without even having a conversation about the danger they might struggle to adapt.

To be fair, we were always going to "go backwards" once the top flight was back to full strength. At the very, very most we might have stayed around 9th and that would still have folk swinging from the lightshades wanting the manager changed every 3 weeks.
