With no action for the big teams this weekend I thought it might be worth a look to see how our lower league neighbours are getting on as the dabs host Partick.

The Jags have one win and 10 defeats from their last 13 games, which is quite incredible given they had the same budget as us last season and just 18 months ago finished a top six team in the Premiership with Archibald a contender for Manager of the Year. Maybe today will be the day they finally get their act together because their team looks pretty decent.

United recently were gubbed 5-0 at home by Ayr United and last week were outclassed by the mighty Alloa Athletic. Hopefully the wheels are about to come off once again.

Doolan wastes another chance before Harkins is denied by the keeper again. Partick should have this game sewn up by now.

Finishes all square. Harkins helps Jags to their second away point of the season but they go bottom of the table as Falkirk picked up a surprise win at Somerset.

Will we get league derbies again next season? If so in which league? Very hard to say at this stage.

A bizarre day in the 'fizzy pop league', as our neighbours used to call it.

County get done by Morton (who move into the top 4) on Friday, setting up a chance for the others to catch up, but....

  • Ayr (minus Shankland), lose to the most unlikely of away winners, Falkirk, who had a rush of new signings earlier this week.
  • Partick raise their game to come close to a win at Tannadice, probably think the point is a good start to the year, but find they're now bottom & a point adrift.
  • Inverness confirm they're no longer the draw specialists, as they slump to another defeat, and drop from 4th to 6th.
  • Dobbie strikes again, to lift QoS above Caley.

......and those jammy arabs are now a point closer to the top two teams  :slaphead:
