Cobra 9,971 Report #1 Posted 22 January Was a quality player, proved himself an intelligent and articulate pundit on Sky, did a bit of coaching as an assistant, likes football to be played the right way. Surely giving him his first job in management at a top flight club couldn't possibly go wrong? At the weekend they lost 5-1 to Strasbourg to leave them winless at home in the league all season and a point off bottom. Tonight they were beaten at home again, this time by second tier Metz in the cup. Who needs experience eh? Top Report
WoodStein 3,228 Report #2 Posted 23 January Henry, G Neville & McCann - perhaps some of the more interesting players-to-pundits Sky have had - have all followed a similar route, skipped the managerial learning curve & with apparently similar managerial consequences (Henry still has some time to fix it, I guess). Gerrard next? I suppose there are far more ex-pros who followed the coaching, assistant manager, wee league manager, big team manager route, and then became successful pundits. Perhaps hardly surprising? Top Report
