  1. 1. What are you expecting when the Dee visit New Douglas Park?

  2. 2. Who should be in the starting XI?

I’m going to stick my neck out and say we will win two and draw two of those nine games, so will go into the split with 22pts, I actually think 30pts might be enough to stay up. Yes it was two points dropped today, but also two points dropped by Hamilton as it was there home game. There’s promise as well, McGowan looked good, Deing is a good keeper, Wright should get great confidence from his goal and Andreas looks a good presence in the middle of the park. Hopefully as they start playing more with eachother then the team will get more.

If we can take four points from trips to Easter Road and Tynecastle despite conceding freak own goals in both games then I suppose we have to believe we can pick up points in every game.

Stats for match & 2nd half. Doesn't make for great reading.

Top scorer/hat-trick hero on the bench - interesting.

I thought Curran played well, gave the Accies defenders no rest. I think staring him over Kenny on the Astro was the right decision. Maybe an argument to do the opposite against less agricultural teams.

The last time Miller started a game on plastic was Rugby Park and he scored that day. Curran's only goal since September came against Alloa.

If we start Curran as our main forward there is no danger of Dundee humping a team 4-0 (and having the points sewn up long before we get into injury time). We'll actually be lucky to get on the scoresheet at all playing Premiership opposition with Curran up top.

Thank God the young boy Wright got his first goal in 18 months as otherwise we could have suffered a horrible defeat.

Curran's work rate is excellent and I don't have a problem with him playing off the front man but he's never likely to score so playing him ahead of Miller doesn't make sense to me.

If we're going to score goals and win games we simply have to play with a goalscorer spearheading our attack, especially when we're incapable of keeping clean sheets (even when leading in injury-time against the league's worst attack).

It's very difficult to make an impact on games when coming off the bench with 10-15 minutes remaining.

I don't totally disagree. It's this whole thing we've had for years where we have to weigh up a target man v goalscoring type forward - not as simple as it seems.

I would have liked to see a pairing at some point but maybe J MC thought it was sensible to go a bit rigid and then give the wingers more freedom to push on and attack (and Wright tbf got in the box for the goal). Robson I think was given freedom to attack more but didn't really work out.

Kenny Miller and Nelson could be suited for Killie I think. I have a feeling we might do that and then Craig Curran will come back in for Livi. I think Nelson maybe isn't totally right so there's been reluctance to start him - hopefully in a good state for midweek.

Going by the radio reports Accies were set up 4-3-3. The guy said before the match they don't have the players to play that way and could come a cropper.

The same guy after the match said they don't have the players to play that way against most teams in the league, and could come a cropper 😧

Cobra why do you keep banging on about Wright not scoring in 18 months?

It is like you’re having a wee dig at him?

That's what I thought. It took a pretty weird spin too.

It certainly did. I was down at pitch level by that point and from the original pass over the top, the ball almost bounced straight up rather than sort of skidding through like it would do on grass.

That’s what I think caused Senny’s split second hesitation leading to him slicing it, instead on banging it back over halfway.

That moment aside, he was superb.

I guess because Curran, Wright and Dales are hardly prolific whilst Miller is top scorer. It’s good to have a choice at last and I’d like to see Miller and Nelson get a start together.

We failed to beat Hamilton for the first time since October 2017 and this is a Hamilton team that had lost five games on bounce since Christmas.

Our keeper played a blinder and we still couldn't beat them, something that would have been no surprise to anyone looking at our starting XI before kick-off.

Wright is a great prospect. My point is simply that we put out a team that didn't look likely to get on the scoresheet. The fact that Wright ended his drought was a pleasant surprise but it doesn't change the fact we put out a team that was always going to struggle to find the back of the net.

I really don't want to get on the manager's back. There are plenty positives, but the starting line-up at Palmerston in midweek and again today have not IMO given us the best chance of winning the games.

And their keeper made two brilliant saves, the second was sensational. We were the better team from 30 minutes on, no question.

Miller has had as many poor games as good- you appear to have wiped them from your memory?
