Match Aftermath: Dundee 0 - 1 Hearts

Another mistake in defence gifts Hearts an early goal as Dundee lose at Home.

A scrappy affair in the box as O'Dea fails to clear the ball and gifts Clare an easy chance in front of goal.

Dundee 0 - 1 Hearts.

I can't remember a worse season at home for Dundee ever.  Is this potentially the worst of all time?

A dreadful result against a poor Hearts team. Scunnered for the millionth time this season and St Mirren will be rubbing their hand.

Performances like today are why I fully expect us to be relegated.

Don’t have a clue how we lost that game. Hearts are the worst team to come to Dens this season IMO. No interest in football at all and the joke of a ref (Walsh) let them away with it time after time.

On Dundee, we again are the cause of our problems. We let Hearts score (they were never scoring today) with yet another f**k up at the back. I have lost count of the individual errors that have cost us goal this season. But we played into hearts hands by being nervous and playing kick and rush. Any time we played it on the deck we cut them up but we did it less then a dozen times.

Yet again the team have only got themselves to blame that they lost, again.

Hearts are rotten but they're difficult opposition once you've gifted them a goal.

We should have claimed a point today but it wasn't to be.

I don't accept we're doomed to the drop. Let's see what happens in Paisley. Get Nelson fit and win down there and we'll all be buzzing.

Thought we battled well and looked like being the only team likely to score second half. We are not doomed IMO. There is hope that JM has made sensible selection today with Miller in for Nelson and the subbies did not cause any drop in our play.

Thought Kenny had scored and a draw would have been a fair result. Again support in the Bobby Cox applauded the team at the end of the gevent and that was acknowledged by the players.

Mystified as to why Wright got hooked. Thought Dales and Robson were poor today. Crazy defending again kills us. We should at very worst  have drawn that game nil nil as they were rank as well. If Nelson doesn't play we don't score.

O'Dea should obviously have cleared the ball before their goal but it was worrying that our whole defence was in disarray. Our young loan keeper set alarm bells ringing early on and then there was calamitous uncertainty from several players to gift them the opener.

With O'Dea and McGowan playing at Dens together for the first time you wonder if we're ever going to have a settled defence. We must have tried a dozen combinations at centre-back this season so it's no great surprise that we have the worst defensive record.

Who will play in defence against Celtic? Will we see O'Dea binned and Kusunga brought back or will Davies be handed his debut? The only thing that seems certain is we'll be making mistakes.

Good point.

Kusunga was binned for his performance against Hibs. Will O'dea be binned for his against Hearts?. Fast running out of options with Davies injured and Jefferies nowhere near 1st team standard.

Barring injuries to others, I don't think Kusunga will start again imo.

McIntyres substitutions yet again were absolutely terrible

He took off a striker and replaced him with a midfielder at a corner.

Awful game to watch, with an awful ref who should get demoted to the lower leagues. We lacked bite in midfield, the Swedish lad should have started he keeps our shape and we generally do better with him in the team. Wright wasn't brilliant, however he is a match winner, strange bringing on Curran for him. Sooner Davies is fit the better, our defence is awful however that problem comes as we don't have a ball winner in midfield.

When you look at the nonsense allowed by the ref, I think Odea and McGowan were fine. There was more than Odea at fault for the goal. Stick with Odea and McGowan, Ralph and Horsefield. We need consistency.
