Dee_Dee Posted 20 April 2019 Report Share Posted 20 April 2019 (edited) Sadly, official confirmation of automatic relegation is all we’ve got to look forward to till end of season now. We deserve it to be honest, we are the easiest beat team in the division and have stunk the league out all season. There are other honking teams but they are above us Edited 20 April 2019 by Dee_Dee
Guest Posted 20 April 2019 Report Share Posted 20 April 2019 I think I am a positive chap re Dundee, but even I think it's all over for us. Gutted, to be honest with you, its never nice to be relegated but the league table doesn't lie. We have been brutal since July.
thegen65 Posted 20 April 2019 Report Share Posted 20 April 2019 I have my own thoughts and suspicions re Camperdown Gedee and i hope i am wrong but i will refrain from adding any more doom and gloom to an already horrendous shambles of a season. In my opinion we need to change the manager and as you so rightly say advertise the position and lets see who applies. More importantly if i was John Nelms i would be asking well respected and knowlegable football people who know the managerial scene and football in general inside out to come on board and advise him in the recruitment process and hopefully choose a manager who at least will give us a fighting chance of promotion next season. Saying that i dont think there will be any chance of JN listening to advice or indeed even getting rid of Jim Mc Intyre, i fear he will give him the summer to rebuild a squad to try and get us promoted, i may be wrong but i fear that will be the case.
Spiritof62 Posted 20 April 2019 Author Report Share Posted 20 April 2019 The reality is that we signed a manager who didn’t really want the job, who in turn signed a bunch of guys who didn’t care for us or the club didn’t care and didn’t try. McIntyre should be sacked for his signings and his lack of ability. Nelms should stand up and accept his part in this shambles and do his job for once and sack this useless article tonight.
BigG Posted 20 April 2019 Report Share Posted 20 April 2019 Three things need to happen before any rebuilding job 1 John Nelms has to go 2 Jim Mcintyre has to go 3 Communication from the club on a forward plan

Popular Post Napper Posted 20 April 2019 Popular Post Report Share Posted 20 April 2019 what will put the tin lid on this clusterfuck of a season is us going down and the tangerine ones coming up through the play offs.. the club have had three years to build on being the premier club in the city and it's been thrown away in a shitstorm of incompetence...

Hi BigG, I think that all the power is now with the players. If the players want to exercise their option then there is nothing that the club can do about it unless there is a relegation clause in the contract. In my opinion it is a ‘win win’ for the player. He can either exercise his option to stay for the next season or if he gets a better offer from another club then he can leave Dundee for his new club.

If Nelms had an experienced person advising him we would not be in this position. An example being the signing of K Miller, perhaps somebody like Craig Brown or even Jocky would have said “ hang on John the guys 37, don’t you think 2 years is a bit stupid”. Nelms just blundered on with mistake after mistake, the Doosey being McIntyre’s appointment. Anyway we need to accept the inevitable and hope that the club can survive this latest self inflicted catastrophe..
islaydarkblue Posted 20 April 2019 Report Share Posted 20 April 2019 In my opinion the writing was on the wall last July when we struggled to beat Brechin City 2-0 at home in the final game of the League Cup section. Brechin City had lost 1-7 at home against Dunfermline the previous Wednesday evening and they should have been well beaten.

This is problem of having one person making all the decisions rather than having a board of directors who also give their opinions. In my opinion there is a big difference from running a business in America where parents pay for their children to receive football coaching to running a Scottish senior professional football club.
