I'm sure they will get opportunities from the bench, and deservedly so, but possibly not too many starts. At the Brechin game Lyall did get pushed off the ball a little easy at times although redeemed himself with a well place goal and Finlay was playing a centre back role compared to his usual midfield which, against Brechin, gave him plenty time to show us all his ability on the ball. Would love to see them perform as well against Championship opposition but realistically this is perhaps too much to expect at this stage.

Welcome to the Dark Blues :)

Probably expected. Aberdeen and himself personally would not have wanted to drop down a division.

Makes sense. May gets to continue playing top flight football and Aberdeen don't have to face him but know their rivals do.

If McInnes still rates him but feels he needs time on loan to get his form and confidence back, no brainer to make that happen against the other sides in your division.

I wonder who is available now that May is out of the running (not sure we were in for him anyway)

We are ridiculously short up top and I'm getting a little concerned about where the goals will come from.

Although.... I know that McPake will be working hard to bring in a couple of decent forwards based on our impressive recruitment so far.

Still think we need a creative midfielder, unless Ness can be that. and maybe another winger.

Noticed that there was an injury concern for Meekings already. Got a feeling that McGhee and Forster could be the main partnership at the back with the two crocks in and out of the team due to injuries.

Aberdeen spent £300k on the player. He turns 27 this year. The only hope the Sheep have of recouping some of that money is if he rediscovers his old form (probably at St Johnstone) in the top flight. If May was to go to the Championship and hit 30 goals nobody with money to spend is going to care. Shankland thought he was going to move to the big-time but the interest never materialised.
