We could easily compete with United for May. Question is, would we want to. After the publicity, if he signs for them, our board will get pelters. Not sure why we are hanging about  though. We will be left with nothing. Also their mob will love it. Rightly or wrongly it will be more bragging rights  for them.

We can't force May to sign, we could offer daft money though and have bragging rights over Utd but that would just be stupidity, we're a business after all. If they're offering more money just to get one over us then more fool them.

A business that doesn't make any money...

Agree.  I wouldn't mind May at the club by any means but we shouldn't be pushing the boat out for him.

St J seem to be out of the picture. I am surprised. May would most likely start, be playing at the higher level and hopefully Wright would do his best to ensure that goal scoring via May was the focus for them. Not sure that money is really the issue for May. Aberdeen have not been able to pick him as their main striker, wonder why?

I for one would want May at the club but this is just getting frustrating now with the lack for strength in depth of the squad and lack of transfer activity full stop. Worrying considering it's only two weeks until our first league game

Worrying  if we are hanging on with him as our main option, especially  having such a shallow squad. I fear we end up with a doughnut like Mendy again. Irrespective of the sensible view, Dundee ( Nelms) will get pelters if the Arabs are perceived to have snatched May from under our noses. We have to strengthen as  was clear from the Cove game.
