Dfc And Pr

Recommended Posts

Does anybody think that DFC will follow up on the financial results that were put on website and allowed others to report they way they thought fit.

These things need managed

BBC and DCT have caused CARNAGE with our image to potential sponsors and customers.

We can't just bury our heads and hope story goes away.

Get press in this week and tell them how it is and grow some relations

Pretty sure any company looking at sponsoring the club next season will do their due diligence and draw their own conclusions as to the financial health of the club.

I'd also be very disappointed if there isn't something lined up in that respect already.

I think DF has a point though to be fair, too often we just let anything be said without even offering a response. There's a massive difference between defending ourselves publically and banning reporters though, we just seem to operate on extremes.

But it's sometimes better to maintain a quiet dignity than biting to the deliberate misquoting and misinterpretation of issues surrounding our club that DCT in particular and the BBC have been guilty of for years.

Agreed, but it's also sometimes better to ensure that misinformation is not spread too particularly when it relates to a situation that concerns the health of the club.

The health of the club will not be adversely affected by any misquote or misrepresentation. Its reputation might take a knock with certain types of people but then who cares what people that take media reports as gospel without doing their own research think about the club?

The reputation more than certainly will take a knock if this kind of misinformation spreads.

This club has been in admin twice, when more than a single source starts reporting that we have debts of more than £3million once more, perhaps it'd simply put people off even getting as close to doing their own research.

Media reports that have damaging reports have damaging effects, it's as simple as that really, rather than having to deem whether you care about differing groups of people or not.

I think people are being unfair blaming the club for the shambles. The Courier is especially culpable. They made up a story on their website. They were told and they've not corrected it. It's incompetence compounded by pig-headedness.

Can't believe how much the Courier has changed in the last couple of years.

I always knew it as a factual, news reporting, respectable paper.

Now it's a tabloid within it's own right and much more interested in making sensational headlines than reporting purely fact.

If The Courier have been told and wont change it then it's basically a big F You to the DFC supporting half of it's customer base.

Always thought local papers were meant to be supportive of the local clubs who keep them in business rather than print unfactual rubbish about them.

Don't hold your breath for media climbdowns they simply don't do it.. even in libel cases you will get a small paragraph on page 14 of an apology after likely runnin as a top story for days weeks.

It was only weeks ago that DCT were allowed to run the story about the Derry being a sectarian cesspit.

If DFC are on the right tracks then get out there and shout it from the rooftops and control the story.

Things like this ARE important in this social media age

As a Club, we are again clueless in the PR Dept, surely the club knew that the Media couldn't wait for any

excuse to tear us apart, at any opportunity regarding our Financial position, What were Nelms and Steve

Martin thinking about??, this is the BASIC'S in running a Business. We get the Media in and do the Spin on

the results and answer any difficult questions there and then and as you say, lets hope this has not put

any future sponsors or players being put off, from coming to this GREAT Club.
