Napper Posted 20 July 2019 Report Share Posted 20 July 2019 it's not sounding too promising....obviously we need many additions to the squad..
DFC1974 Posted 20 July 2019 Report Share Posted 20 July 2019 All Peterhead for first 40 mins. They could (possibly should) be 2 up by now. Things need to change for second half, imo we are really struggling to get going.

Mev Posted 20 July 2019 Report Share Posted 20 July 2019 Really worrying when according to the BBC we are getting totally outplayed at home by Peterhead. Sounds like a change in tactics is needed.

A lot of it was nothing to do with the upcoming game, a lot about Strachan (perhaps not unexpected). Imo JMP only lightened up right at the end when he talked about the impending birth of his next child and he may not be in the dugout. He was at last asked about team news late on in the interview (Q: injuries and suspensions????), and there was an uneasy silence before he finally said 'Ness'. And will he be assessed tomorrow. 18 hours ago, Spiritof62 said: I just wonder if JMP is a bit anxious about GS and DM looking over his shoulder, he is the boss and must be allowed to get on with things. GS has been the centre of attraction for the last week and hopefully it’s the team that will be in the headlines with a win this weekend. Watched the interview this morning & agree with Dondeh's observations above....JMcP looked a bit 'disinterested' at the start, was asked very similar things to what had gone before in GS's conference, god knows why....and why each journalist in turn asked him roughly the same set of questions that Steph Dailly had asked at the start. I wondered if, based on when the interview took place, if JMcP was a bit pi**ed off that none of his transfer bids had turned into signings, as he'd suggested at Cove? It was maybe Friday afternoon that Killie's approach to Aberdeen for May emerged. He also might have had Mrs McP's situation on his mind, he seemed to suggest the birth would definitely be today, hinting at maybe a CS required. He did, though, change mood noticeably after the curious 'any team news?' question was out of the way....and no-one thought of asking the obvious Andrew Davies situation. He started joking about whether him pacing the hospital corridors & worrying about matters at Dens might be more stressful than his wife's position...then quickly saying something like "christ, I hope she doesn't see this!". I'm sure 3 points & a 2nd daughter, and JMcP will be a happy lad tonight.
eyeothedug Posted 20 July 2019 Report Share Posted 20 July 2019 We should still be well up in this match with Byrne and McGowan in midfield plus McDaid and Nelson up front. The defence is solid. Yes definitely need 2 or 3 quality additions. Midfield and striking.
Napper Posted 20 July 2019 Report Share Posted 20 July 2019 can we hold on for penalties?

Doesn't come across that way on DeeTV audio....they have said Peterhead are playing some good football at times, and are a team that's used to winning games. BBC do like to 'dramatise' their commentary a wee bit!
dblair Posted 20 July 2019 Report Share Posted 20 July 2019 Scrappy first half. We are not playing the ball quick enough to get through Peterhead who are well organised and pressing well. Finlay Robertson has really impressed me though, great passing, positioning and work rate Need to show much much more in the second half,
Billy Campbell's Ghost Posted 20 July 2019 Report Share Posted 20 July 2019 Journalists do ask silly things. It would be better if managers just read out a report on team news, injuries and transfer updates, if they wish, instead of Enduring the bland guff journos come out with. eyeothedug Posted 20 July 2019 Report Share Posted 20 July 2019 (edited) Is it 4 4 2? Is Nicky Riley playing for Peterhead? Or Si Ferry? Edited 20 July 2019 by eyeothedug
