If you are in the mood of reading a prediction of the Championship, you might want to read the following link https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49175547

I read the piece right through. And generally, thought it wisnae too bad. But I found it hard to really concentrate, after reading the quote above, early in the Article.

No surprisingly I'm definitely NOT accepting that quote. But, I added it, as a Discussion Point for the Forum &  a Motivation for DFC, Manager, Players Supporters.

So come on the Dark Blues.

Let's start tonight wi a WIN.

With an eye on  main prize.

We're going for promotion.

DUNDEE FOOTBALL CLUB

Not a bad article in fairness but don’t agree with the “They have the head coach to do it in Neilson” because don’t believe he is all the great to be honest.

I did the league table thing at the end of the article. My prediction is .....

Think Leanne is an absolute spanner for that prediction. They have been down for years ever since we sent them packing.

Happy to let all the media and pundits think they'll cruise it. Just adds even more pressure on top of their fans also thinking they'll cruise it. Neilson will be under serious pressure after any slip ups at all.

I'm not too comfortable saying it, but as indidicated by my short opening comment, her piece overall was not too bad.

Her "wording" on some bits though, could have been phrased bit better...Although you would expect a bit controversy.

Dundeefc 1783 ... I didn't spend any time analysing your table team positions above ... Except the top & bottom bit:chaplin:

Think the article sums up the expectations of the Arabs and their owner. They have spent big so expect to cruise it. That expectation is what will be their downfall. Massive pressure for a club which quite frankly doesn't have the quality of player to match the expectation. After being knocked out the league cup, Neilson is 2/3 bad results away from the sack. That is not a good situation to start a season in.

Both Dundee and Dundee Utd have squads similar in quality and the best in the league IMO. Whichever club has the less toxic atmosphere in the stands will go up. If both clubs have toxic atmospheres then that will allow Dunfermline or Partick to sneak in and win the league.

The Strachan factor continues to be talked up by the media, but I think it will have very little impact on our fortunes this season. He's here to do a job with the youths. Any impact that has will not be seen for a few years.

Arbroath will be this years surprise package. A decent squad of players and will certainly not be the whipping boys Brechin were a couple of years back. Agree Queen of the South will struggle, although they are guaranteed some points the way we usually play down at Palmerston!

Championship player of the year will be Danny Johnston for his goals. Dee fans own POTY will be Jordan Forster. Very early days, but I'm not entirely convinced Shaun Byrne will become a fans favourite.

Im DEElighted with this article ..

Hopefully JMc . JN  & DMc get this on the changing room wall and fire the lads up !!

All the pressure is on United this season and that suits me just fine !

She seemed pretty resolute & confident in the way the short comment/prediction was put.

From their very first season in the lower division, it was their expectation, they would be right back the following season ... And I've no doubt, she is aware, that, that did not exactly work to plan, in that season, & was it the two seasons after? TBH, I'll be surprised if Dundee, or United or any other Club, "cruises it" ... She should know as a professional  (like we all do) that each & every club in the Championship, are no there, just to fill up the empty spaces.

DFC are developing into a tough, fighting team & definitely not without skill ... I'd not go so far as to sat we will win it ...

BUT I'D BE SURPRISED IF WE ARE NO THERE IN & ABOOT:chaplin:

I LOVE DUNDEE FC

Neilson continues to get constant praise from pundits & others alike (I'm not sure if Arab fans are totally on board still) But, even allowing for a bit bias on my part, he has never really convinced me, that he is in the category of a top manager and this season I think will be the real test for him, as to whether he & his players (inc his star signing) are up to the task. As you rightly suggest an-dee, any slip-ups (shock defeats) & he will be under serious pressure ... Shame that:chaplin:
