There won't be many Rangers players who have had as many starts as Kamara has since he arrived, this is the first time he's been dropped for a game of importance.

I haven't noticed him starting. Fair enough. Stewart is good enough though.

Stewart to Rangers is such a terrible idea. I don't think he ever performed for us in a game against the Old Firm, he was a ghost at Birmingham and he even seemed a bit overwhelmed at Pittodrie where he managed just 4 goals in 50 odd games. He's only really shone at Dundee and Killie since leaving Cowdenbeath. I don't think he can handle the big stadiums and the high expectations. I'm amazed Rangers offered him a deal. Mind you, they did give O'Halloran a four-year contract.

I'd try to reunite Stewart with Hemmings in January once Rangers have realised the player is of little use to them.

Agree, re-uniting Stewart and Hemmings would be brilliant :) We have one part in place...

I think it's quite a sensible cheap move for Rangers, a two year deal for a Scottish based player is petty cash for them. I could see quite a few occasions where they are struggling to break a team down with loads of possession and find that they need a player like him to unlock things and he could be the guy for that. If it doesn't work like that, they've lost pretty much nothing.

At Birmingham, he was thrown in for defensive cover for some games and it didn't look like they really knew anything about him - expecting him as a big Scottish boy for some physicality and pace. Aberdeen didn't really play a style that saw him flourish again but even then, the stattos had him as having quite a big influence on games with 'key passes' but not so much in direct goals or assists. Clarke at Killie understood him well and played the football to unlock him.

Hopefully though, complete disaster and his father-in-law somehow convinces him on a loan here in January!

Who’s his father in law mate?

Jimmy Nicholl.

Don't know what order he married into the family but Nicholl gave him a chance when he was at Syngenta in Grangemouth playing amateur. Stewart said in an interview as well that he really struggled when the management changed there and Colin Cameron was in charge but Nicholl come back in the season we signed him and he reckoned that saved his career.

Said it for a while but I've always thought Nicholl is a very influential character in Scottish Football. There seem to be a fair number of players playing at a good level who have a lot of time for him and he's managed a few sides where he's built a team of young guys who have then went on to do very well in the game.
