Itโ€™s hoped the Hibernian Academy graduate will enjoy exposure to regular first-team football at Dens Park before returning to Easter Road in the summer to take the next step in his football development.

Sean will link up with former Hibees captain James McPake, who is now in charge of the Dark Blues.

A recent Scotland Under-21 call-up, the 20-year-old has featured four times for the first team so far this season.

Sean Mackie: โ€œThis is a great opportunity for me, and I have to thank both clubs for getting it through.

โ€œHibs see it as a chance for me to improve by hopefully getting regular minutes and Iโ€™m grateful to Dundee for showing faith in me.

โ€œIโ€™ve only heard good things about James McPake, who is obviously highly thought of at Hibs, and I want to do what I can to help the team push for promotion.โ€

Weโ€™ll be keeping an eye on Seanโ€™s progress and everyone at Easter Road wishes him well for the duration of his loan.

Iโ€™m late to the party - and what a party on here I missed last night๐Ÿ˜‚

welcome to dens lad

If you like parties where half the people speculate about proven quality turning up to improve things before midnight then you would have loved it!

Our owners have really backed us this year with a few major signings after relegation and the tremendous upheaval it cost last year. I think we were always going to have to take a wee punt on a couple of cheaper signings.

No idea re Mackie but we are light for defensive options and a Marshall injury would mean that McGhee would have to be shuffled over to play on his weak foot when he's a key centre back right now and also the only Cammy cover.

My only experience of encountering him is that I had Mackie on loan for Edinburgh City on Football Manager and he was pish. Given that Ben Hutchinson was my greatest ever Dundee signing on that game, it's maybe not a bad thing!

A few positive comments from Hibs fans and it seems that he impressed a bit last season but isn't quite of top flight level yet so needs some loan experience. After McPake encountering the loan players last year and his comments re it being a bit of a mess, I am hopeful he's got someone with a good character.

seems a well thought out signing for us. cover at left back so no danger of Cammy being thrown to the wolves, and likely to get a game during the season. Needs to be brought into the fold quickly so that all the positive stuff before the United game gets back on track.
