Just thought I'd start a thread on it as I think it deserves one of its own.

I think we all have our favourites for different reasons but thruth is at our level every player has strengths and weaknesses.

Hamilton is a decent shot stopper usually but sometimes hesitates to come off his line.

Cammy has huge heart, good pace and will run all day but perhaps isn't the best technically.

Forster wins most of his headers but runs like someone has tied his bum hairs together.

Gowser is a good link man and a real trier but can't hit a ball cleanly.

Mcdaid is quick and eager but doesn't always have a good cross.

Overall though I think it's better to vent on here rather than during a game as this doesn't help the team.

Wattie I think Forster's ability to run is probably dependent upon the length of his bum hairs on a particular day. I am not aware of his trimming regime but you may be able to enlighten us. 👅

Wattie, I would agree with all of the above however Gowser caught the one on Friday clean enough, granted that it was the first one in a long time 😱, it would be interesting to see our regular posters give there general opinion of the first team pool and see where that sits, as you have said, we all have our favourites.

He certainly did catch it huggs.

Marshall I think is a good, solid player. His main weakness is his lack of height and defending the back post.

Meekings has struggled to get his form back and really needs to go back to basics. He's got to be more aggressive, use his strength better and improve his awareness.

McGhee I like. He's brave, composed and reads the game fairly well. He's done well at RB and CH.

Ness can't run or jump. Decent left foot but has a chronic injury which should have meant we didn't go near him.

Byrne is starting to look the part now he's in his best position. Reads the game quite well and has a bit of composure. Gets stuck in. Quite slow and can't strike the ball.

Robertson is a great prospect. Two footed and very composed. As he gets older he'll grow taller and stronger.

McPake I don't think is quite ready. Ok in flashes but needs to do more.

Mackie is starting to look a decent player even though he's playing out of position. Decent touch for a big lad and doesn't hide.

Hemmings is starting to show his ability and I think goals will come. His linkup play is good and he makes good runs.

Johnson shoots on sight which I like and makes some great strikers runs. Unlucky not to play more.

Nelson is a bit raw and sometimes holds onto the ball too long. However he's eager, quick and aggressive.

Todd hasn't had much of a chance but he's a decent technician.

Dorrans is a quality plaaaar. I'd like to see him push up a little to create chances and I think he'll do that as he gets fitter.

I reserve the right to change my opinion on these guys 🙃

Forster should, in his quest to improve himself, speak to a player who also had this problem, Andrey Arshavin😂

It is only when issues such as above are raised, do we then recognise the benefits of a Self-help Sharing Group ....

Where "open discussions" can take place & solutions found... In an environment free of shame & embarrassment:chaplin:

If you suffer from this problem, do not suffer alone. There may be a self-help group near you If not, why not start on?

Wattie, Fair comments on the majority, the only one I have reservations about is Mackie, only seen him against Elgin / Arbroath and didn't set the heather on fire albeit he was better against Arbroath.

Great post Wattie, I don't necessary agree with all you have said, but we don;t have any Messie's and all our players have defects but should be judged on their overall performance not only on the things that some  people as  see "substandard". (maybe not the right word but the best I could do after a few sherbits.)

great post
