As a team we're awful but there are nine awful teams in this league and of the nine we've got the best players.

If we wanted to go toe-to-toe this season with United and win derbies we had to appoint an experienced and shrewd coach. We didn't so instead we're aiming to avoid embarrassment against United and trying to finish second. That said, with the players we have it's pretty poor that we can't lay a glove on the dabs. They're not exactly world-beaters.

Makes no odds if we finish 2nd 3rd or 4th

That team has no chance against an SPL team in a play off

Exactly imagine a Mcpake team up against a battle hardened Hamilton or the likes it would literally men against boys!

We are soft as shoite

Not streetwise enough

Why aren’t our players round the ref in first minute with Butchers horrendous tackle, there players are for Nelson tackle...

Unfortunately some of our players seemed to accept that tonight, as bad a performance as you will see in a derby.

Cobra no Dundee manager should be so negative at home in a derby.

If that is remotely true, then he shouldn’t be anywhere near the managers chair at our club.

That performance was worse than the 6-2

Truly awful

I couldn’t give a monkeys that he won some poxy award after beating two part time sides....

He is miles out his depth.

All we can do is speculate but I suspect the disastrous and unlucky 6-2 result combined with McPake's inexperience and personal crisis with the court action has left the dressing room drained and the team impotent and lacking belief for this big occasion.

McPake IMO is management material but he should probably be learning his trade at somewhere like East Fife or Brechin. Expecting him to build a team and immediately go toe-to-toe with Neilson and United for the title was unfair on McPake and unfair on the Dees who've just endured two seasons of misery in the top flight.

He has been backed well

But your right should be nowhere near the managers office at Dens.

Only DFC could appoint another rookie, after employing one barely a year back and seeing the disaster that was..

Agreed. By the way it was Mcpakes fault we got beat 6-2 due to inept tactics and we are enduring embarrassment after embarrassment cause Nelms isn’t picking even close to the the right person for the job?!!

Butcher on a booking in the first minute, we should have had Gowser all over him and had him sent off in the first half

We are so fecking naive and reckless when it comes to fouling. At one point tonight we'd had 6 fouls and 3 bookings. Last derby they had 25 fouls and one booking. When are we going to wise up? Nelson should never have played tonight.  He's had 3 bookings so far for late lunges into tackles. What does he do tonight? Same again.

Very poor match and they deserved it based on that second half.

We bottled it. Our big players did not turn up. Dorrans, McDaid,  Byrne all poor. Hemmings totally isolated.

They were there for the taking and we did nothing to hurt them.

Mackie dear oh dear, he was shocking at times.

Nelson? Yir having a laugh he should have been first off and at fault for the second.

The subs? May I ask what young McPake brigns to the game? He should be sent packing back to Rangers ASAP. He's nowhere close to being ready for first team football.

Oh and I hope that prick who shouted during the minute silence gets a good kicking.

Agree with all of this. All of it. Old McPake keeps bring on young McPake which is very worrying. He offers nothing.  And Nelson and Mackie had absolute shockers tonight.

Young McPake and Mackie should be sent packing tomorrow. It's scary to think what salary McPake must be on at Rangers. A few years ago a friend of my son signed a contact at £750 per week, aged 15.
