At least the manager knows that we were a miles behind against ICT, but will he be able to take that knowledge and do something with it?

I want McPake to succeed as a Dundee manager, that way we might be able to start having some sort of stability at the club, but he has to start showing that there are issues, he can address them and not keep going back to idea's that failed before.

Asked whether there was a hangover from the disappointing defeat at home to United in their previous outing, James added: “It did cross my mind on the bus on the way down the road from Inverness but I would say no.

“Having watched the Inverness game back I just don’t think we were clinical enough and didn’t take enough good risks at the top end of the pitch.

“It was quite a comfortable afternoon for their goalkeeper and that’s annoying.”

The fact that I believe we have one of the best strikers in this league and the guy is having to run around to make his own chances tell you everything that is wrong right now.

We are not prepared to take chances and try to penetrate a team that are setup to defend, we would rather try and bring them out with all the play it at the back style. Robertson knew this and played to it. 1 shot on goal against Inverness will NEVER ever be good enough.
